The whole "different culture where you're not allowed to grieve openly" is such a lie. I'm Ukrainian and have many friends from other Slavic countries, including Latvia. We grieve losses of loved ones openly. We do not do cartwheels after witnessing a dear person drown. She's a psycho, pure and simple.

The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. @@geeangeles6600 because once charges are filed against someone it’s all but impossible to come out of a trial with a not guilty verdict. The court system is structured until vital defense information can be disallowed. An example is self defense. A judge can rule to disallow information showing the victims past history of stalking, threatening, harassment, etc., which allows the one single then to presented to a jury. That single event, minus the history, convicts innocent people all the time. So the attorney may have known it would be impossible to win or you could be right and he just wanted his hands on the money. There isn’t a lot of justice in the justice system tho.

@@kathrynbillinghurst188 You can swim in the hudson. It's just how wide the hudson is and how dangerous the currents are. Especially where they went. Also the water is freezing. Swimming in freezing water decreases your body temperature rapidly. After 20 minutes of swimming, he would be exhausted and freezing. Hypothermia only takes 20-30 minutes to start to kick in and an hour to start being fatal. That's just sitting in freezing water.

@@SheliaRPierre Now that I am done watching, I can comment properly. There’s no doubt she k**led her boyfriend, but the detectives didn’t do a good interrogation to get it out of her, they pretty much put words in her mouth, and expect her to said yes, from that moment on, I knew that if they would have gone to trial, she will most likely be vindicated, they didn’t prove murder. Her lawyer is something else, they will take the whole $500,000 thousand dollars without giving her a dime, that’s just plain ridiculous. I think that she did it by either creating a reuse for him not to pay attention to what he’s doing and he came to her aide she pushed him over the water, and if he is in front paddling she have time to let go of the stick, probably pre cut before she left home, she planned that murder period. If I were his mother, I would fought her to the nail in court proceedings, she would not see a dime in that money, let alone her lawyers, you are not going to take my child life and live off that money, I would give it all to charity.

Oh hell’s bells, her lawyer saying she came from a community that “doesn’t show open grieving” is a bull crap excuse for her turning cartwheels after her fiancé just tragically died! And the way she described removing his kayak’s plug, sabotaging the paddle, admitting she did nothing to help him while watching him drown, then gleefully celebrating “being free” when he dies sounds more Iike 1st degree murder to me. Her lawyer is sleezy and stupid. Police interviews can be delicate and conducted with sensitivity vs. aggressively demanding with accusations so the suspect will hopefully continue to talk rather than shutting down and lawyering up. All interrogations are not alike. Anyway, she got off easy. And she absolutely should be deported!

You guys are wrong. They had no evidence, except her own confession, which she kept changing. She ultimately said, "I wanted him to die, he died, and I'm okay with it." There's nothing illegal about that, hoping that someone will die. If she had kept her stupid mouth shut, she'd never have been charged with anything. They HAD to let her plead guilty to criminally negligent homicide, with a light sentence. Otherwise, she'd have been convicted of nothing. They simply had no evidence to convict her of murder. It had nothing to do with her race or gender.
