Extremely controversial topic within the regiment. Should women be in SF. The reasons why the army is attempting to force this chance, the reasons why and my opinions on the positives and negatives.

Nick Koumalatsos a former Marine Raider veteran stated that going into Afghanistan with a clean shave because some random officer wanted them to, and not a lot of people respected them until they had a long enough beard. We want foreign nations to be scared of women, most nations don’t even believe in women’s rights…

Women serving alongside men as SF? Absolutely not. If they want to be in SF, then have all women units that have their own physical standards. Pretending women can can compete physically at the same level as men (especially as a Green Beret) is fucking ridiculous.

@ValhallaFirearmsTraining It shocking how the MILITARY machine has become so pressurized and impacted by political pressure, that they forsake the original reason behind why they exist as an institution and not one to appease people or have sloppy standards that would hurt them later on the battlefied Please can you do a video on how to fix recruiting in the military and if you think some ranks in the Officer path should be scrapped and every infantry, armored, artillery officer must first mandatorily serve some years on the enlisted ranks before getting promotes promotes to 1LT, and given a platoon of 30+ lives, just cause of a 4yr degree requirement was met? And could you also do another video to give your take on if it'd be a good thing for graduates of Special Forces Green Beret Q course immediately becoming warrant officers(say W01) instead of Sergeants and gradually progressing through that path, so that rank path when they retire, so that they can at least have better pay than regular army gets due to their specialized training and sort of higher-ups mental/physicalinjuries they'd have incurred during service as SF boys? Cheers man

Definitely need to have all women units if they really want them to be a GB as an experiment. There should be a all gender unit a few for those that don't mind working with women, and keep the rest of the units all men. At this point it's like the administration wants the US to be destroyed to fill up their pockets as usual.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!!!! Being Army Ranger Sniper & Advancing To Tier 1 JSOC 18 Delta Force CAG Squad D & G. (32.+ Years) Women Can’t Handle The Q-Course Alone & Can’t Same Maintain Fair & Equal Physical Requirements As Male. 2 Female Officers Already Passed & Made It Through Ranger School For Political Reasons. WOW Ranger School Is That Easy Females Can Get Tab Like They Did. No Females Have Done It Since. Let’s See If There Will Ever Be Female Marine MARSOC Raiders. The Marine Commandant Would NEVER Allow It. How About Female Seals? G.I. Jane Movie Was Hollyweird & A CROCK. NO Female Can Pass SF Green Beret Or ANY Other SF Community In Other Branches When Held To Equal Physical & Not To Mention Mental Aspect. They Would Be Given A Different Set Of Standards Which Allow Them To Pass With Special Treatment. This Discussion Is Directly Irresponsible & Unrealistic. If There Are Women That Are Allowed To Pass Ranger School Then Hell Lets Allow Them In All The Branches Of Special Forces. Then After Special Treatment & IF & When They Go Operational The Horrific & The Ugliest Missions Ordered To Carry Out? Their Stomach Wouldn’t Handle It Mentally & Physically Makes It IMPOSSIBLE For Women To Be In ANY REAL SPECIAL FORCES COMMUNITY Unless Of Course WE DROP STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL TO MAKE FAIR & EQUAL For Men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should do a vid on the importance of Strength training since this is a similar topic. I hear too much about just meeting Cardio & endurance standards or calisthenics. But I feel this is as important as that as it improves explosiveness, reduces injury, improves ruck, and allows you the ability to drag your teammate if ever a situation comes up.

Everyone always says "as long as the standards are met". Problem is the Army's ability to enforce the standards. Specifically SWCS. Refer to the letter released by the cadre back in 2017. Inclusiveness sounds great, however, war doesn't care about your gender. Just your ability to perform. The day the NFL has females on the field is the day SF should allow them through selection.

There are so many smu selections i can pass and job options working alongside sf with higher standards, but honestly, even as an aspiring badass id never think that im capable of passing gb selection as it is, nor would i want to. Shannon kent is a really big role model for me, incredible woman, working with sof, doing incredible things, while not having to be a GB or ranger to achieve that. Its a big problem to lower standards just to try and encourage inclusivity.

I am a die hard feminist, but this is probably the one and only case where I say, let those who are the most capable physically handle the job. It's not fair to the SFs to put people who do not meet the physical standards on the team just for the sake of diversity. A soldier who's not up to the standards, regardless of their gender, would be a liability for their team and it wouldn't be fair to the soldier him- or herselft to be put in an extreme situation they most likely will not survive so that the army can go and say "heeey, look how diverse we are!". I wouldn't want to be that soldier, would you? Also, please don't say men and women are the same, we're not, and saying we are implies women who don't meet physical standrards for men aren't giving their best when we in fact are. I am really fit, I've been training for years and my partner who doesn't train half as long or half as hard can still lift more weight than me. Imagine what he would be capable of if he actually worked out. You guessed it, a lot more than I would ever be capable of. Sure, there are women who meet the requirements, let them be in Special Forces, those sistas have earned it. But don't lower the standards to get more women in special forces, because if they aren't up to the task, they will likely die trying to do it and it is not fair to them, their families or society.

First one didn’t make it past gate week. Second one was a 21 day non-select as well. Although I wasn’t on a team with her ever I was told by some friends that although she wasn’t pulling the same weight as the men during team week on any of the events she wasn’t being dropped as a “safety” violation or being punished with sandbags the same way the men would be if we were only putting out the way she was. Essentially she got “carried” through team week but they didn’t select her anyway. Not sure what the point of that was.

I can easily lift, clean, and press 100lbs over my head and I'm not in great shape anymore. As long as girls are given the opportunity to train same as the guys from a young age or at least starting in high school you're going to find young women who can absolutely and easily do the physical aspects of any job.

Tough women are out there. Sure Passing Robin Sage, SERE etc isn't the only problem with this. Closely living with sexually starved men for months on end in close proximity, will just trigger natural human instincts that might jeopardize mission success. Is that a risk worth pushing for? That should be the question you should be answering. Valhalla already stated that women serve in other special operation capacities(Civ affairs, PsyOps, etc...) and they're killing it in those job roles cause the emphasis isn't hunkered on physical brutal strength and sheer ruthlessness. But the objective to just shatter all existing military records where women haven't been previously just to have a good political campaign and make a statement at the risk of the lives of the men who've trained all their lives to be in those specific special positions, would be foolhardy and detrimental in the end.

I also worked with men that didn’t have either the mental ability, mechanical aptitude or mental toughness to make it either. I actually wonder how much standards lowering is due to recruitment issues more than appealing to women for SF. Recruiting crisis is big and at one point Big Army was going to let in people who didn’t have high school diplomas. Standards have been lowered in general including for males not just to recruit females in the name of DEI or the niche but genuine benefits they have or for the simple fact that for a lot of roles in the army the usual anti women -they can’t lift- argument doesn’t really apply. I do think this opens the discussion back to women in infantry units. And while relationships could be a problem, one would hope professional standards and ethics would avert relationships like that even on an ODA team. How do infantry units handle stuff like this? I’m sure there have been cases where it happens but also plenty of cases where it doesn’t happen in infantry units and even when it does th unit hasn’t spontaneously combusted and ceased to function. But I get it, workplace drama can be annoying. I do feel that infantry is naturally held to lesser standards than SF so I feel like it’s not problematic for women to be there in principle. Obviously it’s best if there’s a universal set of standards for both genders but that’s not it for line units. I do feel like there are plenty of women into bodybuilding or BULKing in the gym scene that can definitely outlift a good portion of men simply cause they ain’t lifting. So maybe one day, one woman will actually pass these SOF schools or any standards test of their own accord on a more universal scale. I feel like it diminishes the # of women who can serve it would be worthwhile and ultimately raise credibility for the few women who can pass it if they’re interested enough to enlist. Feels like a glass ceiling just waiting to be broken. At the same time, we see women fighting in mixed units in places like Israel and most recently Ukraine and it seems relatively fine. NBD. And they are definitely field infantry units not POG roles

I believe that if you can meet or (preferably) exceed the standard and do your job correctly you should be allowed to earn your position. Whether that be in SF, Regular Military or in the Civilian world. I am a female who has done and participated in male dominated activities, I KNOW those standards are there for a reason (I've had to meet and exceed them in my time) and I don't believe they should be unjustly lowered. I also believe whole heartedly that if we seriously start training everyone from a young age the same, this whole outdated and misogynistic view of women( It's exactly what it is and it's time to be honest about it) will start to turn. You're starting to see the results of that type of training in all types of martial arts especially in grappling and MMA. Girls that were given the opportunity to train hard the same as the boys are now forces to be reckoned with and they're only getting better, stronger and faster with each new generation. And Logically it makes sense, Why wouldn't you want a larger pool of capable people to choose from if your current batches aren't up to par? As far as getting comfortable with the idea that you have to do what the rest of the world does and work with members of the opposite sex for the vast majority of your workhours...I mean, you're lagging behind. Add to that there's this constant chest thumping of being absolute professionals and just incredibly elite operators, can you really say that if pitching a tent is all that's needed to wipe it all away? Hold everyone accountable to that standard across the board, if they can't then clearly they don't meet the standard and don't need to be there. Clear cut, man or woman if they can't be professional and do their jobs get them out. I can guarantee the ones left will be the ones you absolute want representing your organization.

It’s known around the world that women aren’t respected in the same way and ultimately have limited or no rights at all in some of these other regions compared to the United States. It’s nothing new

There should just be a female special forces group that allows members to be attached to other units for specific things where a female could be advantageous. Good examples could be things like close protection or special reconnaissance where the circumstances would specifically benefit from having a female or females on the board. Simple fact is in a lot of situations a female could be damn near fucking invisible whereas a male would arise suspicion. Could there ever be a scenario where a team of exclusively female personnel operate on their own? Yeah it's feasible but it would be very circumstantial and as said at the start it would probably operate far more commonly on an 'attached to unit' basis in the same manner as something like Air Combat Controllers where they're literally attached to a unit for a specific role.

@@ValhallaVFT What is currently happening in Israel and Gaza is some of the most highly trained and battle hardened SF in the entire world are kicking in doors (they've been at it perpetually for 6+ decades) and this is of course all supported by ground based surveillance and close target boots on the ground. Again a classic example of where a sufficiently (notice I'm not saying equally trained) but a sufficiently trained female SF operator can provide an additional angle in a niche. A female is literally fucking gold dust for these kinds of scenarios, especially in this part of the world.

Yes, women should be S qualified in parallel standards (not the same as men and in female only units), imagine training effective female guerrillas like the JPG in islamic countries or very effective female snipers, BUT women should only operate with other women in special units, carrying a dude with 70 pounds of gear is one thing, but carrying another gal could be possible

I dont think they should be infantry based. I think it would be a good idea to see w0myn in their own sf units for intelligence gathering. A beautiful w0myn has a higher chance of getting to a high ranking general and getting all the info out of him than a dude trying to fight him head on. It makes more sense for women to be in a unit where their skills are utilized more properly. This just makes more sense.

Women have played an important role in warfare, especially in the areas of Intelligence Operations, Guerilla Warfare and behind the lines operations. One only has to look at the contributions made by women during WWII with the British Special Operations Executive (SOE); However Special Operations Forces are a different matter; the level of physical fitness and physical punishment that members must put themselves through to carry out the mission, as well as the ability to maintain unit cohesiveness under times of extreme stress is hard enough without having to worry about the female in the unit and in todays age where Females are claiming Sexual Harassment at the drop of hat, SOF Team members have enough worries without having to worry that they will say the wrong thing in the middle of an operation. I agree with most of your points brother but after seeing a few of the past female graduates of SFAS, I highly doubt there'd be any sexual tension while taking up space in tight living quarters on missions. It's kinda like the old don't ask don't tell policy from back in the day. Not all gay men want to sleep with all straight men , same with gay women lol. Once I had this explained to me by one of my gay soldiers back in the day, it made sense. Besides, have you seen the women going out for SF? They all look like relatively in shape bald headed teenage boys and I don't see them diverging from that look moving forward from the Q Course lol. Even if they might happen to like men (more than likely they won't), I just can't fathom them going through the whole pipeline leading up to being on a Team and suddenly turning into a sex kitten lol. My issue like yours is with lowering the standards and operating in not so woke environments. Our job was hard and the training should continue to reflect the real world missions future operators will be participating in. Great points nonetheless bro.

Yes, as long as standards are upheld and not given free passes compared to their male counterparts. There are females out there that can really perform, and I believe females can perform certain roles better than men based off different cultures of the world. Physical training needs to be taken into consideration because based on social media too many females for some reason just train pilates or anything to make their ass look bigger. Off-topic but I'm all for steroids being given out in the military to increase performance and lethality if given safe dosage, or why has no one bother to make them safer with increased benefits?
