At the middle stages, people bought expensive luxuries that you would assume only rich people bought (like expensive purses). I must be rich... my luxury items are mine and my daughter's horses. However, they're boarded cheaply and they're relatively easy keepers. I do have a partner though. Combined income between AUD 60-80K. We do live simply though. Rarely eat out. Rent our house, have no loans and minimal CC debt. We own our 2017 vehicle outright (not an expensive car) and often buy second hand and thrift. Then again we're in Australia. It's so interesting to see the the different demographics overseas.

@madvoice
@madvoice 5 жыл бұрын
@@smallkitten769 Ahh but your cost of day to day living in the USA is markedly different (healthcare system aside). A minimum full time wage is approximately $37400 AUD or approx $27250 USD. My partner is full time, I'm part time. Our combined income would place us at lower middle class by Australian standards but then again it's not all about money. My ex husband and I had a combined income in excess of USD $200K but to be perfectly honest I've more disposable income now (and a shitload less debt) than I did the best part of a decade ago.

I’m 20 years old. My biggest luxuries used to be buying products for my rabbits and dog, and also makeup. But lately I’ve been very sick for the past year. Now my view on life and my luxuries are very different now. I still buy stuff for my pets of course, but a lot of my money goes towards my medication. And it’s not that cheap either, even though I live in Canada. I’ve been so sick and in pain for quite a while that buying medication and visiting my doctor and getting a prescription IS my luxury. I am glad I can afford it. There was a time when I couldn’t and it was really hard.

The biggest luxury in my life is having access to all types of food and growing up having different cultures around me. It made me realize how blessed I am to be born in a safe country with good food and multi-racial neighbours. There's literally no hate for different races because I have multiple races in my blood and I'm proud of it. 😊

For me, my luxuries are going on a vacation whenever I want if my job approves my vacation days, any video games I want, the few makeup/skin care products I want (I can always afford high end if I choose to), take out whenever I want. I am going to 2 concerts that I really wanted to go to. There's not much I want in my life and I don't have a spending problem. I put away a lot of money in my savings account so I have money for any emergency and it's nice to know I can pay for anything.

Incredibly lame. I use uber, have a trainer, have decent clothes and travel abroad 1 or 2 times per year on a $30,000 year salary. The difference? I don't live in the USA where things that should br free or cheap are absurdly expensive (like healthcare, transportation, education, etc).
