@@bryzantine1571 it’s not very realistic no, but that train leaves the station pretty early on in the movie, so if you’re still holding out for realism by the end, I don’t know what to tell you, haha. It’s an aspirational message to accept and appreciate life as it is, to stop wishing for things that are impossible or defy natural law or are really selfish, to stop always wanting “more.” And one must assume that everyone is aware at that point, when Diana is speaking to everyone through the broadcast, and Max’s intentions are made clear by the lasso, that people are also aware that the fucking world is about to end because of their wishes, so one would hope that people would make the connection and rescind their wishes even if they have to lose loved ones or face hardships and tragedy again. Again, maybe not very realistic, haha, but no less realistic than a firey battle for the souls of humanity with Ares, God of War. 😉

@@nickh4676 we don’t see where the nukes or the material to make them came from, but they came from somewhere. Same with the wall. The stone/Max Lord can’t create matter or energy, but he can magically redistribute/reconstitute it from something (or someone) else.

True, but then I don't think people really had the time to think about that, Lord just kind of talks people into a wish he wants them to have. Like if someone was looking into your eyes and asking if you wished someone you loved was still alive, you're not gonna say no. And if they did wish for world peace, that doesn't necassarily solve all the famines, poverty, and sickness in the world.

Also, did Diana lose her powers because of Steve or because Barbara wished to have her powers. I felt like the Steve wish drawback was he had to be in someone else's body the entire time. So that was already the "trick" to that wish. WW losing her powers was the trick because Cheetah wished to be like her. So, letting Steve go shouldn't have given her powers back, she would have to get Cheetah to undo her wish. I know, I'm nitpicking. Bc anyone could wish for their love back, and 99.9% of those people would not have any superpowers.

Just to be annoying, I would like to point out that there is no "British part of Ireland" because Great Britain consists of only Wales, England and Scotland. Whereas, Northern Ireland is part of the UK but not Great Britain. Domhnall Gleeson was born in Dublin, Republic of Ireland which is part of neither GB or the UK. Anyway, hope that clears that up and loving the podcast as always lads!

I think it was just because she got turned into a demi-god by wishing to be like Wonder Woman and with the help of the rage boost from Max she just turned into a cheetah-like creature. Kinda like how Greek gods can shapeshift, the wishing man taking people's rage and giving to Barbara just got her to get strong enough to turn into Cheetah.

I assume that the letter writer said WW killed those robbers because she did apparently throw them off the roof of the mall, tied together, to fall down and crush the top of a police car. I mean, sure... they're moaning and such when we last see them, but that's likely because a sizable percentage of the bones in their bodies were shattered.

You meant Adagio in D Minor by John Murphy from the Sunshine soundtrack that was played during Wonder Woman 84. Hans Zimmer did the soundtrack for WW84, and while he composed a very similar track to the "Sunshine song", Time from the Inception OST, he did not compose the "Sunshine song" that plays in WW84. Adagio in D Minor is actually not on the OST, but on the Song is from the Music from WW84 Soundtrack along with Rio by Duran Duran and Blue Monday, etc.

With the Exorcist prequels, they filmed Dominion first, then scrapped it and re-filmed it as Exorcist: The Beginning, then they later released the original version of the film as Dominion... since it was already finished I guess...

I don’t think Johns is the CCO anymore, he stepped down a couple years ago. But based on how successful the first film was, this seems like a mostly Patty Jenkins influences on the scripting side, but you are right overall the script is very suss.

Would it not have made more sense for Kristen Wiig to lose her human appearance and turn into a cheetah the first time? It would drive home the fact that there's always a negative to your wish.The fact she got two wishes because Mando felt generous was stupid. Also why Wonder Woman has random invisibility powers and flight yet she can't do it in BvS or justice league is very weird. DCEU is being handled like the fox Xmen universe.

Y'all didn't miss much with Monster Hunter. It feels like the later Resident Evil movies, in that he just didn't care about the source material more than using it as cannon fodder for his ideas.

Soooo much bothered me about that plane scene: •Obviously knowing how to fly a WW1 prop-plane barely qualifies you to fly a jet. •Why was the plane ready to go? It can take up to 30 minutes of prep work to get a jet ready. Why was it fueled up? Why wasn't it tethered? There's a ton of safety checks needed. •Speaking of fuel, how could a jet have enough fuel to get from DC, to Cairo, and back to DC? Steve still doesn't have a passport so I'm assuming they used the same jet to get back. •And speaking of Cairo, where did they land and how? •Making a jet invisible won't hide it from radar. It's still there. •Why is steve amazed at fireworks? Fireworks are older than chirst. They had fireworks in 1917. •Also fireworks are sill powerful explosives. One wrong hit and that jet is going down. Anything else I missed? My suspension of disbelief was so shattered they might as well flown to space.

We don’t know they didn’t stop and refuel somewhere. The invisibility is more like total sensory obfuscation that works just like Themyscira; unless you directly breech the magic field, it’s undetectable. Steve knows about fireworks. He just thinks they’re beautiful up close. But I agree, it was frigging dangerous.

If I was billionaire I’d throw money at MGM just for the rights of Stargate alone. If only to let Brad Wright do whatever he wants with the franchise. Stargate has been out of production for far too long and deserves a come back. I’d spent £100millions just to scan the series and it’s CGI into true 4K. The license needs some love already

Great Podcast, truly phenomenal. However, I stated previously I would like every video moving forward. Some how I keep missing it last second. I like Exorcist 3 more than part 1. It's scary as hell with the a great performance by Brad Dourif while the main character and his priest friend have great (and at times lighthearted) chemistry. There is probably the best jump-scare every (it's not cheap, totally deserved) and a complete WTF moment with a pair of scissors. Oh and it's written AND directed by the writer of the original. It's a direct sequel to the original and sidesteps part 2 (so it doesn't matter if you watch it or not, it just follows different characters).

couple of things i thought about: 1 Cheetah doesn't get two wishes, max gives her power as a price for regular human wishes over the broadcast (i doesn't make a lot of sense but watching that scene i do think that what the movie is suggesting) That why she doesn't transform until after the broadcast and why max tell her he feel generous while explaining how he gets things from other people whishes 2 The Maya disappear before the Spanish ever arrive, the Aztec are the ones that where kill by the Spanish

I've seen a few reviews mention Barbara getting two wishes, and I'm sure I'm not the first to point out that she doesn't - when Max is taking things from people he's saying things like 'give her your rage' etc and that's how she becomes Cheetah. Doesn't make up for all the film's other flaws, but that one thing is explained.

The Joker soundtrack is great, written by a woman who won the Oscar for it, and is notable because the score was finished before they started shooting, so they were able to play the music on set.

@@Etticos. I was watching it with family but when it got to the action scene with the cars.... everyone was nodding off ;) I'm pretty sure everyone watching had guessed an obvious call back they were going to bring back at the end and just fell asleep in an action set piece. Not a good sign :)

@@rowanb4395 yeah it was pretty rough in my opinion. At first I thought the “cheesiness” was intentional, like it was referencing 80’s movies. But then I just realized the movie was unintentionally cheesy, and boring, and inconsistent. It’s a shame, the trailer made it look really cool.

My thoughts exactly. But then I saw it in the cinema and it was one of the best cinema going experiences of my life. No one was eating or talking and the closest group of people were 5 rows away, there were only about ten other people in the biggest screen in the cinema. I'd give it a best movie ever.

Would prefer they had followed the Lord Oneiros/Dr. Destiny storyline, which I believe would make the film far more interesting than the vague reference to a trickster God.

Why did Steve even have to come back in a different body??? This wishing stone seems to be able to do anything. Why not just bring Steve back in his own body? And no, it's not like this is the negative side effect of the stone, because the negative side effect was already her having to give up her powers. God, that movie was stupid.
