This is actually an important scene down the line when you find out all three of them water down their chocolate products and keep the better excess in a vault. When they say chocolate should be simple, they mean that as a way to conserve their choco vault. If wonka ever sold his chocolates legally and kept doing it, it would force the Cartel to up the quality of their product and bit by bit they would lose their chocolate vault savings. And they woukd quickly lose the leverage they had with it.

My favorite thing about this moment in the movie is that it appears he’s just had his dreams shattered, finally meeting up with his lifelong idols and having them completely trash his life’s work, but it doesn’t even slow him down for a second. It just goes to show how much Wonka believes in his dreams.

My absolute favourite chocolate is the whole milk Moser Roth bar. It is perfection. sweet, but not too sweat, creamy, but still firm. It is insanely difficult to make a good plain chocolate. Milka, Lindt, Ritter, they all fail. Hershey's is a joke. Same with tea. It is pretty easy to make a large bouquet with tons of tastes, but difficult to make a decent black tea with zero additives. That is why we love Earl Grey with its bergamot to hide the actual cheapness of the black tea.

The description of what's in the Hoverchocs would be brilliant for chocolate makers to make for real. Just have a marshmallow center covered in a swirl of sea salted caramel and cherry and then coated with a hardened chocolate shell.

if you think about it, the combination of all 4 at once might not fit so well, sure salted caramel goes very well with chocolate and perhaps even cherries, but marshmallow probably would interfere with the other ingridients since it's absolutely the sweetest out of the bunch, likely it'd overpower the other flavors.

I think you forgot what slugworth is in the wilder film. He’s a spy that works with Wonka to test the kids morality, seeing if they would take the souvenir sweets and give them to slugworth for the alleged promised money prize slugworth told them about once they got their tickets. This doesn’t mean he was in business, but was actually working for wonka instead. There‘a clearly something that should happen in between all of this, however

I've been on the fence about this movie from the beginning. I couldn't get out of my head is he going to get more Gene Wilder with it? the manic energy and near delusion? Or the Johnny Depp a little off his rocker, or a lot (personally felt like Depp's wonka wasn't super invested in the candy side of it, but that is just me). But this clip actually convinces me to want to watch this movie. It is a simple joy that his wonka expresses, a passion for the art of candy making, to want to do this for the simplest of reasons. Chocolate + Marshmallow+ Salted Caramel + Cherry seems like a strange combo, like all 4 flavors are fighting each other. I think 1 less flavoring would balance it better honestly

Out of all the ingredients he used, I'm most perplexed by the "Bittersweet Tears of a Russian Clown." How... How did he collect those? I assume they had to be authentic, so he couldnt just ask a Russian Clown to cry.
