MIKE STINNETT CARVES HIS MOST CHALLENGING WALKING STICK YET.
Mike spent two months carving and painting this multi-subject walking stick, which features the wildlife found around a marsh or pond. Carved into a single piece of wood is a Red Winged Blackbird, Cattails, Dragonfly, Western Garter Snake, and a Crawdad, with leather antenna added.

Incredible! This is beyond a masterpiece. Every part of the making of this stick is so detailed, so painstaking, so skilled--the wood is perfect, the concept art is perfect, the careful carving of each element--you have surpassed yourself. The finished project is just glorious. I truly love this piece and all the subjects you carved to go into this. I think the red-winged blackbird is the crowning jewel, but it is by far not the only jewel on this piece. This is a masterwork, this video is a masterclass. Mike, you are the master carver. Bless you and your family!

I've loved all of your carvings , period. However something about this one struck a cord with me. I was very interested on how you would handle the transparency of the dragonflies wings, as I watched you crave it. I wasn't disappointed, your method was beautifully done. The crayfish, what we call crawdads in Indiana, holding onto the snakes tail is charming as well as lifelike. I have a avid interest in watching birds, and your red-wing blackbird looks as though he could fly away at any time. Thanks for this video on this weekend, you made my day. Thank you again Mike for sharing your wonderful talent with us. Between the music and watching you work, my soul is able to find a little bit of peace...even if it's just for a short time.

I admire anyone that can take a piece of wood and create a piece of art. I just watched a documentary on Michelangelo and was mesmerised by his use of marble. I can take an empty space the larger the better and not feel daunted, you give me a piece of wood and I am stumped. Admiration to you Mr Stinnett, your love of nature and it's value in a world where man thinks he/she is master of all (which I find so, so vile, arrogant and destructive) is a joy to behold. If everyone planted a tree and created a habitat just think how happy nature would feel. Go on help nature out folks, you know she deserves a helping hand now. Pick up an acorn, fill your pockets and plant them, in a free space of course and watch what happens. Nature is better than any movie, tv show or pop channel. Give it a go!!

Hallo Mr. Stinnett! Ich habe mir alle Ihrer Videos angesehen und war stets begeistert von Ihren fantastischen Werken. Dieser Stock aber übertrifft meiner Meinung nach alles Bisherige. Ein herausragendes Kunstwerk! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
