ty for video and thanks to all comment writers. You spare me some pain. I thought it could be waste of money but there was a very little hope, that may be it possible could somehow work. But i see all bad thoughts i had about this thing fullfilled and looking forward for some other way to split logs. Axe i already use but its loud. Need something cheap and silent. :)

I use an 8# sledge hammer, and two 5# steel wedges to split tough wood like oak and hickory. Works great.

It works. You're supposed to use it on the cracks of the cut section and then work tour way into smaller pieces. You're welcome!!

Like an idiot, I bought the Carlton Hardware one, because I had two large logs in my yard to split. Complete waste of time and money, especially with a standard electric drill. Then I went and bought the correct tools: a Fiskars 8-lb maul, an Estwing wedge and a diamond wedge. I got the job done. About the only thing I would use this bit for now is a sort of wedge that I would pound in with the maul - MAYBE - on a smaller piece. Aside from the wood or the drill can buck and cause injury. Save your money, don't buy gimmicks and buy the right tools for the job.

You can use them in your drill and slip on a polishing wheel/mop. Same principle as a pigtail.

Right another ridiculous pain in the ass idea

The large cones driven by a petrol engine work well, but a hydraulic wedge splitter is better, if like me, you are too old and beat up to use an axe

Try putting cone in side of log. I don't know what you were trying from the end. You can't split a round a inch in from the bark.

Thanks for the tip!

I'm sorry that happened to you, but i'm lmao. I've seen several videos posted where the drill bit gets stuck, and all are in rounds that are too big, mostly too deep. Looks like the most it can do is 10-12 inches deep. I'd have an axe handy just in case. Now back to the video......lol. Having said that, I'm going to buy that bit and check it out. lol

Not worth the money when you have many to split. Best way to split wood cheap are still splitting axe and wigs.

does your drill not have reverse?

That drill doesn't have.

That's what I was wondering this is just too funny. 😂🤣 I don't know sh*t about shinola but I knew that wasn't gonna work bless his heart 😆

Cone THREADS on to haft. Reversing will just unscrew cone from haft.
@bigoldgrizzly6 ай бұрын
useless on anything other than very dry straight grained knot free woods like cedar. best use or these is to use them in a drill to mount a cloth wheel/mop for metal polishing

And how much did that piece of crap cost? Now how much is an ax? That drill thing cant even split dry white dirch that has a big old crack on the middle?
@jusubbidiy8 ай бұрын
I think it was 10 euros. Small axe is also 10 euros but it won't work with big logs.
@johandepauw5969 Жыл бұрын
You can turn right and left to loosen no? This would make it easy....
@jusubbidiy Жыл бұрын
You are right, but unfortunately this drill works only one way =)
@kirkstinson73168 ай бұрын
No, you can't. Didn't you watch him thread it on the haft? Reverse will just unscrew it

Finland. I make these videos with English subtitles for more viewers. My English speaking skills are poor, so that's why I don' t speak it on videos. 😊

@@jusubbidiy That makes perfect sense and if you can earn a bit during onset of hard times... I say why not! (man-made hard times from 💉 to maiden of Ukraine and now "global warming agendas.") How are people in Finland taking all of this 🐂💩fear they keep trying to sell to normal people? I'm from Texas, the majority of people I know realize it's all lies to cover other lies. Some don't and they are sad people. Sorry about the questions, but I just caught some unbelievably fake news!

@@jusubbidiy first you need a real drill with at least 1500W. And you need to splice it from the bark to middle and at the end points, top or bottom. It works fine. I have one and it works quite good.
