The way the white strip flowed actually helps the border between the wood and resin look more natural and organic. I think it worked out beautifully

I love it. the white makes it even more a snow storm. trees covered in lots of snow, snow blowing around. a freeze frame in a minute of a snow storm.

I think the white line was an excellent idea! You wanted to depict snow, the white can be said it's a snowbank.

Yeah, mark me down as a fan of the white too. Kind of looks like the wind sweeping up curls of snow in some of the spots, which is very very cool. I'll never know how you come up with the methods for doing these things, or the patience to sit there and glue those snowflakes on one by one... TWICE, no less. These are both really, really cool.

Wow! What a project. I had to count all your fingers just in case you didn't know you lost one when the resin broke loose. That was the largest flying resin piece I've ever seen! Glad your ok and finished the project. Turned out real nice with the glowing flakes. I think the snowy white base was awesome! Thanks for sharing.

I think my big issue is I am a very aggressive turner. I try to take off more that I should and rush my turnings. I think in the new year I will try to focus and slow down. Maybe that will help

I think your bowl has nothing to apologize for, the results show character not flaws, the second one is outstanding!I have an army vet friend from Iraq that ran over an ied in his humvee and has ptsd and tbi , makes me appreciate the cost of freedom, the prayers are for all active and vets! I spent my time in the Navy , with 2 deployments(1973-74, 1975-76))

That second one looks very much like the blowing snow of the many blizzards that occurred during my growing up years in my beloved home state of Michigan. Lived in the very north of the mitten, 64.5 years, before moving to mid Missouri five years ago....to escape those blizzards and snow storms!

I love it! I do have a safety concern. When the piece fractured and it hit you, the bottom of your t-shirt came really close to being caught up in the lathe. It's just the length to get pulled through the machine and you with it. Don't want you to get hurt...

I noticed that also, but I will have to take that risk. I have to tuck my shirt everyday for work and I can't stand it. Plus it constricts my reach. I'll try to be more careful. Thanks.

@@MoonpieCreations That makes sense. Can l suggest a leather apron of the kind blacksmiths wear. Non restrictive, would only need to be tied loosely and would be added protection against all the stuff flying at you.
