Very nice job. I saw on another channel where the urn that was to be buriied was made to fill from the bottom and the lid was attached using 2 brass screws. I always enjoy watching you turn and correct as you go ( getting the right size tenon for the lid).

Thank You Afshin..always fun...One of these days I will probably need one of those unless someone uses an old Coffee can instead..HA...OK, Afshin perhaps a Tea Tin instead....I was thinking while you were turning. English Walnuts are abundant here in Calif. but all the trees are grafted at the bottom about waist high with Black Walnut for strength of the roots. I was thinking it would be an very cleaver turning to make something at just the point where the two come together on the trunk...If I could ever find a downed tree...I will have to keep my eyes pealed for that rare bird....tm

Hey Afshin, a nice respectful job, it looks great. I have found when I make a box with a tight fitting lid, it becomes loose after a few days no matter how dry the wood is, so hopefully the lid on the urn might loosen for you a bit if you haven't got it off yet . Take care and look forward to your next video my friend 😊

Hey Angus, the thing is woods do absorb and release moisture depending of humidity of where you are so im guess that you live at very dry place? anyway thanks for watching i appreciate it :)

Hi there, from South Africa, do you treat the inside of the urn as well with a finish?
@CraftWithAfshin
@CraftWithAfshin 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Albert, yes i do depending on what its going to be used for in this case it was for ashes so i sanded the inside and treated with wax to seal it.
@albertward9601
@albertward9601 3 жыл бұрын
@@CraftWithAfshin thank you, I was wondering about it because one does not want to use a finish that will cause the ashes to stick to it.

Hi Afshin, do you prefer the Maxi 1 or the one you are using now?
@CraftWithAfshin
@CraftWithAfshin 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin to be honest i prefer the one im using because Maxi 1 headstock has edge to it and when your working to the side of headstock your going to have hard time where as the one im using now is nice and round and your very comfortable.

As a couple of suggestions to improve your presentation for a nice project: 1. Make your point quickly when making videos. 2. Avoid use of your middle finger when pointing to things since some people may think you are sending an unspoken message that is not nice. Some would think you are flipping them the bird. I am not saying you are doing this, but rather saying that this is how some may view it; particularly for a US viewer. It is more a cultural thing.
