Catholics are a continuty of ancient Israelites - temple and all. Temple being catholic churches all over the world, sacrifice taking place in all of them, rituals, etc. based on predecessor rituals of old. All else is some form of modification or rejection.

That is , until you read the Talmud, and then everything that you have seen becomes clear. Seph. Jp., 92, 1: “God has given the Jews power over the possessions and blood of all nations.”...Baba Kamma 37b. Gentiles are outside the protection of the law and God has “exposed their money to Israel....Schulchan Aruch, Choszen Hamiszpat 348: “All property of other nations belongs to the Jewish nation, which, consequently, is entitled to seize upon it without any scruples.”...Baba Necia 114, 6: “The Jews are human beings, but the nations of the world are not human beings but beasts.”

@@promark5317 Yeah, it's even worse, they just attributed it all to themselves for no reason, just cause they felt like it. Jokes aside, lot's of european nations claimed to replace Israel, and many "christian" groups that mix faith with national identity claim to be the new Israel, even to this day. I'm not saying anything crazy or conspiratorial, but europeans loved to blame the jews of things they never put to practice yet they themselves did without any book telling them to do so. This is not about saying europeans are the devil or anything like that. It's about these types like Valkonnen to take the beam out of his own eye before trying to pick the sliver out of the ACTUAL chosen, miraculously created, people of God.

Maybe you can help me. From the Bible I have only found two tangible events that must happen before the end of this age and the victory of the next. Those two things are the completion of the number of Jewish believers, and the fulfillment of the number of Martyrs. Any thoughts? Thanks.

@@user-dh6wp3kd1z What you say is true. And there's also the return of the Jews to Israel which happened in 1948, building of the 3rd temple which has yet to happen for example. As a former Anglican and new Catholic, I love this! Anglican Bishop and theologian N.T. Wright echoes what Bishop Barron is saying here. I have been interested in Jewish Catholic convert Roy Shoeman. His testimony is astounding, and he has written a book called, "Salvation Is From The Jews". He calls Catholicism "Post-Messianic Judaism".

This was a wonderful discussion! I converted from Protestantism a few years ago, and was astonished at how little I understood the parallels between the old and New Testaments, and how Jesus truly fulfilled all of the prophecies. I was Presbyterian most of my life, and considered myself a devout Christian, but in actuality I really did not understand hardly any of my faith. Now, I feel so much more grounded in truth, and my Catholic faith answers so many questions I had in such a clear way. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season!❤️

Thank you again and again, Bishop. Your gift and endurance for educating is monumental. Everything you say is much appreciated. I knew this well already as a cradle Catholic but value the good work that Ben is doing to help stop the horrific antisemitism that is embedded in the WOKISM that plagues young people driving them so dangerously astray. Much love and respect to Bishop Barron and Ben Shapiro. Growing up in the Catholic faith the way I did, I was taught to understand that we must have the utmost respect for the Jewish people because Jesus was a Jew, and we believe he is the Messiah foretold by our Jewish spiritual ancestors. Bearing that in mind, in order for me to understand and love Jesus, I had to learn about the Jews, understand, and love the Jewish people, even if they don't believe in Jesus as the Messiah. They are our spiritual brothers and sisters with the God of Abraham as our Father. I feel very blessed to be part of that family.

Antisemitism is also a denial of Christ. We are called to love . Every time I meet a Jew I feel honoured and humbled because I know our Lord came from their line. I’ve heard it said that the Jews and the Romans killed Jesus. NO. It was the sin of the world he took on his body to be the last sacrifice needed for mankind. He laid down his life and picked it up again of his own will to save Jew and Gentile. To my Jewish friends. Your G-d reigns. I TRUST YOU LORD. Please give me strength to get through this Christmas. I’m holding on and keeping faith. I keep faith even as I constantly struggle to provide for my kids and I constantly struggle to buy groceries. My husband is with you God. At times I feel so alone especially as a single mom. Since suffering a heart attack two years ago and my on going battle with lupus I’m overwhelmed. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m now homeschooling them so my hours to work are limited. Thankfully I have you Lord Jesus. Please continue to give me strength. ❤

I think this goes both ways; it is fundamental to understand Jesus in light of the Old Testament Judaism. At the same time Judaism itself is devoid of its purpose without looking at the figure of Jesus of Nazareth, who is in every way further above the prophets of the Old Testament, Jesus whose Jewish roots are being discussed here because He was a Jew and did deeds beyond the prophets of Judaism of old. If John the Baptist was the greatest man and Jesus was already above him, what more do you expect in Judaism if Jesus is to be not anything of importance? You would only stay forever thinking that human religious works would somehow bring down heaven, compelling it, from its place, and to wait for a national messiah that "saves" Israel from its political and sovereign-state enemies.

I feel bad for those who won’t watch simply because someone they don’t like is in it. I thought it was a good conversation and I learned from it (such as Marcionism in the 2nd century and how it’s still persisting and how Old Testament is connected to the nativity story).

In my years in New York working with the JCC, almost every Jew I knew loved Christmas and the us observants during the Hanukkah/Christmas season. My ex demanded to go see the the Tree and the Toyshops back in '12.

I recently heard from a Catholic priest friend of mine whose father passed away that when he was organising the funeral mass , his sister refused to accept the hymn ‘O come o come Emmanuel’ because of the lines that mention Israel. Wokeism in Christianity is no longer at the gates but sadly within its walls. The heart of Catholic faith is the Eucharist, which does not make an iota of sense without Israel

To be a true Christian one must stand with all brothers and sisters from all faiths, just like the good Samaritan. If you see a Muslim in great trouble and nothing moves inside of you or you manage to blame him for his own trouble, you can't claim to be a true christian. when you see Christians, people who share the same faith with you being killed inside a church and manage to support their murderers, you definitely can't claim to be a true christian. as a middle eastern christian I add my voice to the pastor of the Lutheran church of Bethlehem we are not to be lectured on human rights, freedom or morality from western people never again.

I love Jewish people. I'm Ashkenazi by blood (not by much) on my dads side though he's not practicing cause he's catholic. no one that's currently alive in my family is practicing Judaism. But my point in bring that up is to hate Jewish people is to hate my own blood. So I'm definitely against any antisemitism and my heart breaks seeing it so prominent right now. But at the same time I know people who are affected on both sides of this conflict going between Israel and Gaza. And there's been a uptick in anti-Muslim hate too. Both sides are suffering because of a terrorist group. And that's not even going into how many people are dying in the conflict. There's a lot of people and families there who don't want war. And I feel like their cries for help are getting swept under the rug while our media is pushing propaganda to make all of us hate each other. I don't have an answer for this and I love everyone. But I really wish someone would do something to try and talk peace.

With all due respect for your good attitude this conflict did not start on Oct. 7th but in 1948 with the ethnic cleansings. Until the Israelis come to the table and are ready to acknowledge the Palestinians as human beings there wont be peace unfortunately. No people and no blood is more valuable than another! We have to speak up against hate and nationalism wherever it comes from then this conflict will be solvable. However we don't seem to hold Israel accountable to adhere to western values at all

Bishop Barron and all clergy ought to interact with EMJ's work. A faithful Catholic who has really done the legwork on this topic (the JQ) and dedicated his life to it (being canceled for it). Was St. Paul (a jew) an antisemite when he said (1 Thess 2:14-16)? Was St. John the beloved Apostle (also a jew) an antisemite (Rev 2:9, 3:9)? What is an antisemite? When did this term come into existence? Who gets to decide who is an antisemite? Were the Apostles antisemites when they gathered in the cenacle (John 20:19)? Ought not Nostra Aetate be read in light of the Church's tradition? Was St. John Chrysostom Church Doctor and author of Adversus Judaeos, an antisemite?

This is so important for all Christian’s to understand. The level of antisemitism we are seeing after the attack of Hamas on Israel is so disappointing and disturbing. Thank you Bishop Barron for speaking out.

We always watch Die Hard! But kidding aside, when Jesus was missing from the caravan, and was found by Joseph and Mary in the Jerusalem temple, his comment was, “Did you not know that I must be about my Father’s business?” Another translation reads, “Did you not know that I must be in the house of my Father?” Later, “Zeal for Your house consumes me.” Catholicism can never be separated fro the “Apple” of His eye. Otherwise, it becomes Protestantism in so many ways.

Thank you for this: It's so important to revisit the concept of the Messiah every Advent season for both Jew and Gentile. For so many people the concept has lost its relevancy. For instance what does the concept of the Messiah mean to a Jewish believer living in the United States today? In theory the believer doesn't really need a political messiah any more. The U.S. is better armed than any of its rivaling nations -- unlike olden-day Israel which was for two thousand years essentially controlled at various times by Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persian, Greece and Rome. Where does that leave the Christian?

While it is acknowledged that Abraham is our father in faith, it was Jacob, who was named Israel, the father of the 12 tribes who became the nation oIsreal under King David. Abraham fathered a son from Hagar (the maid-servant) who was named Ishmael, whereas God blessed Sarah, Abrahams wife who was barren, at the age of 90 to give birth to Issac; and through Issac would the descendants of Abraham be known. I was Christian at the age of 24 when I start reading New Testament and comparing Old Testament Holy Spirit helped me understand the difference I left christian celebrations of Pegan holidays free masonry rituals i started studying history of religion Holy Spirit reveals many things .. I start asking God where he wants me go he showed me Jewish people in my dream morning of Rosh Hashanah Holy Spirit said go to Synagogue then I start practicing Judaism and few years later converted, it’s not like Christianity or Islam u can instantly become a Christian. now I felt more spiritual difference.. that’s why Islamic Prophet and Christian prophet birth story is very similar.. Muslim and Christian claim is wrong if they worship same God why they use different God name and different rituals christianity is cult there’s so many things I learned
