если ответить односложно - "долго" :) А если подробней - то бумага обычная, но в нужных местах покрыта суперклеем для придания дополнительной жёсткости. Трение естественно есть, но т.к. в большинстве моделей не нужна герметичность, то можно несколько увеличить зазоры между движущимися частями + иногда пользуюсь "грифельной пылью" - мелкой стружкой из грифелей от карандашей, она также помогает уменьшить трение

@@nothingssmore I would imagine you could put a balloon or perhaps a CO2 cartridge inside the fuselage to provide air pressure.

@@alanoneuser actually I did perform some experiments with "regular" CO2 cartridges (the same one which are used for pneumatics), but amount of gas is quite small there, and even with pressure reductor they can power the model for only a very short time. Also, those cartriges and adapters/pressure regulators weight too much to be "carried" by paper engines :(

This videos sparked my curiosity a bit. Theoretically speaking it should be possible to attach an air pump (like the tiny ones used for car tyres) to the engine and slap a control system to make an RC vehicle powered (mostly) by compressed air

In theory - yes, but the pumps I aware of are too heavy for such a weak engines to carry

Axis, as everything other in this model, is made of paper. I've created tutorial video for V8 axis, and here you can use "central" part of axis (without wrapping by second layer of paper)

@@rizalardiansyah4486 hadn't payed attention to those! But even if there is leakage between piston and cylinder, you are right, it has to go somewhere apart from the balloon, otherwise the pressures are equalized at both sides of the piston

There is no any special exhaust system. Waste air exhausted from the gaps between piston and cylinder, as they are not perfectly sealed

Hello, not sure about it. I'd say "almost yes" :) Radial engines indeed are mostly used on aircrafts, but there are also cases where it was installed on cars monochrome-watches.com/radial-engines-in-cars-well-why-the-heck-not/ and even on tanks en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radial_engine#Tanks

the only appropriate non-destructive "fuel" for paper models (at least as I can imagine) is the compressed air. So "jet engine" model would be just a nozzle. As for the "turbojet engine" - it is more interesting, but again, with the compressed air it would work only as a turbune. But maybe sometime in future I'll try to make something like this

@@artemalexeev8011 No bro.Classic piston engine with rotary valve, which is the rotating pipe with hole on the side.When pipe rotate to hole be face to face with cilinder gas go in cilinder and push the piston.The valve is driven by crankshaft directly or by pulley 1:1ratio with crankshaft

I actually tried to build a couple of models with such a valve, but unsuccesfully - too much friction between the "valve" cylinder and its housing. But this was many years ago, and those models was far from accurate, maybe I'll try again sometime
