Firing crushed glass powders on sheet glass allows one a direct method to create imagery, pattern and nuanced shifts in value and hue. In this lesson you will learn about the tools and techniques involved and will get a broad overview of the ways glass powder can be used in art and design.

This is an old video and I'm not sure if this comment will be answered but here goes - when you say sheet glass, you are still referring to Bullseye glass aren't you? Not Float? Is it possible to mix float glass and powders of any COE?

Yes, in this video the 'sheet' is Bullseye. Specifically Tekta which is our Bullseye Compatible clear base glass. I couldn't recommend that any given float would be compatible with Bullseye frit. The nominal COE of Bullseye and a typical float are quite different. You could of course test on a case-by case basis which would be affected by, amongst other factors, the amount of frit applied and the cumulative heatwork during fusing.

At this point, you haven't said what type of glass you use. Sheet glass is an arbitrary term, so could i use float glass?

Deanna, it's important that the glass you use for the sheet base and frit are fusing compatible with each other. So, in this case we're using Bullseye-compatible sheet and frit that we manufacture. Our line of premiere clear sheet is called Tekta: shop.bullseyeglass.com/sheet-glass/tekta.html
