Katrinka, than you for providing your professional expertise in the Millinery Arts. You presentation are some of the best I watched on KZfaq. What I learned has been mainly from books and trial and error. Thank God for KZfaq because I truly appreciate learning from the best. I've never work with hat molds before, but now find myself looking for certain bolds and wide-brim salad bowls in the thrift store that I can turn in hat molds. In all my twenty-years plus in my form of millinery art, I work mainly with cloth fabrics. My summer hats are usually done with layers of Abaca plant. Watching your creative ideas and technique have opened my eyes to creating my ideas with more boldness and passion,. I look forward to take my designs to another level. Ironically, my last name is Millin (by birth) who happens to be a milliner. Thanks, again, for your KZfaq milliner expertise. I greatly appreciate your videos.

You've still got beautiful blonde hair, I havent gone gray yet either, I am 64 on my birthday and although theres grays in amongst my hair it doesnt look gray yet. Not even at the sides, my Mum had much darker hair than I do and she had only really started to go gray at the sides when she passed away at 71. Funnily enough though my sister, 5 years my junior who had even darker hair than my Mother, just about black, has been noticeably gray for a few years now. I think people with very black hair often do go gray quicker but she hennas her hair now. When I was a kid I used to dye mine but not for over 15 years now, its become a point that I havent, now my peers are all going white lol. Mum never dyed hers and I think it runs in mums side of the family too as most of my Great Aunts (very close Scottish family) and maternal Grandmother were all very young looking and kept the gray at bay. Youre the same. I was astonished when you gave your age as I thought you were probably in my age group. I am going to buy some white sinamay because its really versatile and I want to get the feel for it. If hat making looks like its going to be a lifelong hobby I may purchase a block but in the meantime I will look out for houshold objects to block on and perhaps try making one of those insulating foam ones. I am really enjoying your channel and between yourself and Sarah at SH millinary, you are the best teachers on KZfaq!

In terms of straw do you have any tips about making a boater hat? I've always wondered how they were constructed!
