Stranded Alone for the holidays this year!! While driving through the American southwest desert towards Quartzsite, Arizona to spend the holidays with my dog Mason, my truck begins to shake and pulsate while I was pressing the gas pedal!! After scanning the service engine code I found out is was a #4 injector open circuit. These 6.6 ltr diesel trucks have a common problem with this issue, but parts are hard to come by in the middle of the desert!! I end up making the best for the holidays cooking a special Christmas dinner, putting up lights on the camper and decorations inside too!! On day 3 we take the 1994 Geo Tracker 4x4 out on an over landing exploration trip into the mountains where we find an old abandoned mine shaft. We take the Geo Tracker up some very steep terrain to reach the summit!! Join me on this inspirational and relaxing journey!!

Absolutely amazing video Larry & Mason. You did one awesome job of everything. My sweet little friend Mason hung right by , sweet puppy dog. Sometimes God keeps us from things that could be harmful to us , and what seems like the worst of luck, can be a blessing. Okay I really enjoy your videos they're very real I mean you are living by the seat of your pants😮 that can be a little scary your rig is broke down and you take your one vehicle that is running up a trail that may not be suitable for a vehicle going over all kinds of terrain what if you broke something on that vehicle you'd have nothing left you'd be stuck with two broke vehicles and no way to get to town I don't think that was a very good idea to go down that road. I'm going to keep watching I'm 18 minutes into the adventure I can't imagine how it's going to end.😂

My Gosh, I used to drive a Suzuki Tracker delivering the newspaper to over 2000 rural and remote locations daily. That little 4x4 was a trooper! On weekends, when the working class would let loose a little, I came across many stuck in the ditches. In all weather conditions, including North Dakota winter storms. My little Suzuki pulled every single one of them out. Many didn't believe it could be done. Many wanted to place bets. Many shut-up after they were out. lol Your little Tracker is the Little Engine that could. It goes on, & on, & on, & on, & on, . . . . . . it just keeps giving. Of course, you've got to know how to drive through that terrain. Such fun!

Suzuki never made a Tracker. Chevy got rid of the Geos. Suzuki made the Samurai and Slidekick, both of which were 'gutless wonders' off road and had caca transmissions

@@michaeltaylor4984 It was a Suzuki Samurai if we must be "EXACT". I had the "Suzuki Vitara" after I sold my newspaper route. And I'm so sorry that you had such bad luck with yours! My "2" different Suzukis got me through any winter storm!

Im sorry you've had a tough go of it dear. Thank GOD you brought your little Tracker, it sure came in handy. It's a good little vehicle, just needs some love, and look at the amazing areas you discovered. You'll have to go back and explore some more. So glad it didn't take $$$$ to get the truck running. I think your amazing. You made the most of your days. And you said exactly what I say” Be happy with what we have because there is someone in worse shape.“ You made it through! Think positive even though things are low right now. It will be fine. You did your best. I loved your decorations. One thing I have to say. Please when you go in a store crack the windows and lock your doors. I would hate to see something happen with Mason. He is such a sweet pup. Someone could take him and you would never see him again. I try not to show the windows or many details when I leave him in the truck because whatever I do usually isn’t “correct” 😂 but I did left the windows cracked and the doors locked. When I’m in my normal truck I leave it running with the AC/Heat on and lock the doors with the fob. I would be devastated if something happened to him. You're so right about life going in waves... this year has been a huge wave of grief for me 😢. Lost my dear, sweet old dad in May. Then July 3rd I got the worst news a mother could ever receive. My son took his life. He's been struggling for yrs. So yes, life can be so hard. But God is good 💯. I will keep going till He takes me home. Have a blessed week and always be thankful. I love your content! Especially that you aren't afraid to be so very honest about things. And your sense of adventure is wonderful. You are a regular Renaissance man as well, as in what can't you do? You definitely had many challenges this week but you also know what you need to do to fix them. We're having our own challenges here and it gets overwhelming. Money always seems to hold us back from fixing the every day stuff. It stinks, but like you we refocus on what's good. Your Christmas decorating was very impressive btw. Larry stuff happens man! It’s ok to get down! But you’re handling it well! I had a rough time last month with my diesel and had some health issues. Which are both ok now. Wow buddy, that was one intense video. I started out feeling festive and cheerful when I saw the Christmas decorations. Then while we were climbing a couple of those hills in the tracker I found myself hanging on to my chair. Then when the battery problem popped up I was starting to get concerned. But every time I saw your little buddy it brought me back to feeling good again. I'm glad you got everything worked out. I completely understand what you mean about getting overwhelmed when things are tough going. But you are right that pendulum will swing back your way and good things will come your way. Thanks for sharing with us.

How’s that old Hee Haw song go? If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at! At least you had the Tracker to get to and from town as well as to get away from the camper for a little exploring and adventuring about! Glad it was a relatively easy fix, outside of having to wait a couple days for the part! But happy to see you kept a positive attitude about it, minus your overwhelming moment…but that’s to be expected considering all the challenges you’re dealing with! Keep your head up man! Just remember the immortal words of Annie… “The sun'll come out Tomorrow Bet your bottom dollar That tomorrow there'll be sun” As always, stay safe out there…..

Sorry about your break down,you are living the American dream.I travel alot from home to work.Alot of times I'll be in the middle of no where.lol.I carry a simple OBD 2 scanner in my truck witch takes out the guess work.Also I have alot of fluids,parts and tools.You just never know.But I still enjoy the open country road😂Be safe Larry.👍🤘

You do a great job of videoing thru these occurrences. I was just in a situation where adversity tested me. I recorded maybe 5 video clips. A cool head, positive attitude and some knowledge really helps in these situations. In the end when things were right, I looked back and was blessed with people's kindness, the adventure AND the ability to do so. I was 18 miles from my camp in Gila National Forest traveling solo, over two mountain passes and SxS broke drive belt. I had tools and spare belt. Installed new belt on trail to get going but there were other mechanical issues with primary clutch I did not have tools for. Had cell service at this very spot so I stayed instead of hiking and waited on help. high 20's overnite sucked. 32 hours later got resuced and pulled the 18 miles to my truck and camper. Whew, nice campfire story now. Already orderd another spare belt and a few new tools to carry. lol.

Yeah, I kept thinking about that the entire time! I figured I was stuck there for some reason, and I’m not sure why, in fact, I may never know why. Pretty big balls depending on a Tracker as your last remaining working vehicle and going off roading like that.. Glad you made it back ok. Gotta have faith in yourself to do that... I’m catching up on your videos (YT just keeps them playing in the background while I work). I think your honesty about the dip of everything breaking and choosing to be grateful is really something to be proud of. I know when I had a similar experience in New York it can be really overwhelming when it feels like nothing is going right. Another positive- you know how to fix it- I’d be pretty lost about fixing the problems!

Your right others have it way worse.you have a roof a friend your wits and an extra rig..your not stuck,you have help and you have marshmellows,.I'm a disabled veteran with heart failure I used to travel I can't anymore..so I can assure you ,there are glitches in the gitty up but this to shall pass..stay positive enjoy the journey while you can..and hold your travel buddy dear..

@Work Less Enjoy Life More A quick tip for keeping the solar panels clean. Use a California Car Duster. They're awesome, I've had the same one since the 80s. They keep shiny cars stay dust free without scratching the paint or panel. Beautiful doggie.

It's good to have tools. Specially when your alone alot of times. I'd get plug patch, set of craftman sockets,zip ties, duck tape, electrical tools, I'm sure you have air compressor, I'm goin be camping soon. I'm just trying to get my truck set up. GOOD LUCK man...

I got so nervous when you were climbing that hill with the tracker, but you made it and the drone footage was beautiful. You made the best of a bad situation and for that I commend you.
