The fact that James is one of the few people in LRR that owns a car is bonkers. As an American who spent most of his life not living in a a major city, the idea that a car is a luxury and not a basic necessity is such a foreign concept to me. In most of the places I lived not having a car essentially meant your career options capped out at being a retail or restaurant manager until you owned a car.
