World FASTEST Rocket Car 1,000MPH Bloodhound SSC First Public Slow Runs

World fastest rocket car Bloodhound SSC (Four wheels, 7.5 tonnes, 135,000 horsepower) made its first public runs at Cornwall Airport Newquay, hitting a peak speed of 210mph.
The Bloodhound Project is an international education initiative focussed around a 1,000mph (1,609 km/h) World Land Speed Record. The primary aim is to inspire the next generation of scientist and engineers by showcasing STEM subjects (science, technology engineering and mathematics) in the most exciting way possible.
Bloodhound SSC is a combination of fast jet, F1 car and spaceship. The Project is followed in over 220 countries and territories.
At full speed, Bloodhound SSC will cover a mile (1.6km) in 3.6 seconds - that’s 4.5 football pitches laid end to end, per second, or 300m in the blink of an eye.

Did it ever get a shot at 1,000mph? I know they got it to South Africa and did a few trial runs, but then brought it back to the U.K. for the southern winter. A lot of investors pulled out complaining of the slow progress and it seemed to be just burning through cash. They got one more chance when one of the Chinese car companies started funding it but they also pulled out, too. It seemed insanely complex for a 'one-trick-pony' specialized vehicle from the videos I watched. Did the project ever get re-started or is it officially over?

@@ClxKev If you read the description, it was only going at 210mph as this was a first test. I don't believe they're doing full trials until either later this year or next year where they will first trial it at 500mph, then try and break the current record of 763mph, and then they will test it at over 1000mph. They will be doing all of this in the South African deserts where they have the required space.

The car was only on full throttle half the run, it was still accelerating when he let off as the EJ2000 was still producing thrust lol. If they gave it the full beans and ignited the rocket in conjunction... nothing short of a Funny/Top Fuel car would beat this in a drag race
