After you make your character you can choose where you start, either the boat (Exhiles Reach) or the class starting area you remember from before. Just got to choose before you can play.

18:00 Guild Wars 2's LFG is at the same time better and worse :< Best tip I can give you is lvl 30 you will get Mail about first Dungeons. You find a new kind of menu you have never probably seen, which is confusing to use first time. From the menu you can either Join a group someone else made or form your own Group. P1 P2 P3 are Path 1 on Explorer mode. You want to join Story which is different but under the same LFG system -.- because it is confusing. here i s the tip. Form your own group and write that you are a new player playing trough the story, like "First time playing Story, Everyone Welcome." You might also join someone who write "Story, everyone welcome" those usually are nice groups. Skip "P1 P2 P3" those people expect you to be professional and know ins and outs of the things.

Its interesting to watch a review of a game I played thousands of hours on and see how someone's else experience of the same game is nothing anywhere close to mine, pretty fascinating. I guess the only real way to go about finding out about a game is to play it

Give classic a go, I noticed you played both OSRS and RuneScape so might as well play both of WoW too.

After watching alot of your videos, I have finally figured it out. You should have been playing MMOs in 2002 to 2007. EQ, Runescape, Vanilla WoW were up your alley. MMOs had to change with the times. Most player dont want grindy games with story. They want endgame contact. WoW leveling is this; put a youtube video on the other screen and quest without thinking about it. WoW does not start until endgame. That goes for most MMOs that were released after 2008. Your looking for a game that hasnt existed for almost 20 years.

Saw an FF video from you first and hopped over here. You'll almost certainly end up sticking with FF. It has a LOT of story and, I actually found the final segue from the base game to the first expansion Heavensward to be my most favorite story part. Granted, that's about 70 hours in, but it's preceded by interesting enough material. Anywhoo, enjoy your journey. WoW is just not the kind of game for you. You'd probably enjoy Warcraft 3 though - it's story is actually quite good.

I would suggest trying wow classic versions like burning crusade or wrath of the lich king, or even some private servers if you dont want to pay for monthly sub, old version of wow compared to current is very different in every way for me its even better games old versions are until certain expansion, i would love to see you comparing retail wow vs classic version.

Comments on Wow Exiles Reach is universally hated. Early game sucks as they mix specialisations. Fire spells and frost spells wouldn’t normally happen! Exiles reach is 1/1000 of the quests. The Star bosses are rare, you get more xp for killing them, and a chance at rare loot. The unable to move while casting becomes a part of learning fights and knowing what to cast when, to keep your spell cast “uptime”. The conjure refreshment is a universally loved spell by all raiders/mythic + runners. Ogres aren’t smart, easy to sneak past. There’s only one capitol of the horde, that’s why it’s a capitol… And as we said to you, unfortunately blizzard skipped effort on the tutorial, assuming that anyone who starts the game has done so in recommendation and will forgive it’s short comings. Lazy and shitty practice but welcome to blizzard!

3:00 --- This actually made me sad... I laughed... and cried ^^° "What am I doing and WHY?" --- Welcome to WoW. If you want story, you have to make one yourself. The game is your playing field, quests are only a means to an end (getting you mediocre equip and some gold), and to get to all continents you only have to do the various intro quests. Leveling is done in dungeon grinds. WoW is a game where you can do everything and be everything you fancy - and its story is less than a backdrop, an excuse, for things to be as they are. Who you are and why and how, the game doesnt tell, thats your job... I mean, some people dont want it any other way, so... legit... I guess...?

I just want to point out that many of things you've bemoaned here also exists 1-for-1 in FF14. Your opinions are valid, but I can't help but feel like there is an obvious bias against WoW in many ways due to contrarianism. WoW is popular because to this day it is still, by far, the most polished and stable MMO with some of the most creative designs both visually and mechanically. A lot of this exists solely in the end game content when playing with a dedicated raiding team, which is an unfortunate barrier to entry, but it doesn't change the reality of it.

I'm just confused on why you are trying to play mmos. You clearly just don't like the genre. I mean wow is clearly a great game. It wouldn't have been the most played mmo if it wasn't. Why force yourself to play something you don't like, and then go on to complain?

I gotta disagree with your assessment here. I think you really hinged everything on how much the story would pull you in but MMOs aren’t very good at that.
