You have great potential as a content creator, but we gotta talk about the horrible choice of "music" playing in the background. I say "music", but really, it's just noise: a 10 second-long, looped arpeggio of a minor chord. After less than 2 minutes, I had to stop watching, it was so distractingly annoying. Seeing as there were no seams between the cuts, I'm assuming this was added on purpose in post-production. That being said, I subscribed anyway! Hoping for a re-upload one day... perhaps with better audio choices?

It's not a bad game, but the Star Trek franchise needs a LOT better than this. It is 2024 for goodness sake. The loading times are like cassette level. Lockboxes are way past sell by date, and the sheer amount of fixes that create bugs that are never resolved is frustrating. I do still play after all these years, but never more than about 30 minutes a day. It's kind of sad. A game of the future programmed way in the past.

this game was supposed to be good, i remeber waiting for like 10 years for it, some of the developers are from the creators of chrono cross and final fantasy series but its sucks, too korean for my taste, same goes to tree of savior, that was from the creators of ragnarok online, you should review Tree of Savior (2016) imo was good at the beginning but some of the updates screw it and ppl stop playing it

LOVE the intro LOL, dont want to be a hater and all, but this is so true, mmos were fun when we were kids that had all the time in the world, as you grow older, you realize how much they don't respect your time. The grind, the rngs, were all designed so you keep playing unhealthily (not to mention the p2w). This game design is outdated and has aged poorly, there's still a market and space for them but they will never get the mainstream they used to have before. Other genres have took their spot, mostly the mobile market, and other liveservice games that are funnily enough more Massively multiplayer than MMOs. There are exceptions to the trends of mmo like ff14 which has all what people know of mmos but respects your time. It shows that the genre can adapt, but it's definitely not without risks to do so, in which is probably the driving force of why we haven't seen a lot try. It's expensive to try making it big on the mmo scene (which isn't that big anymore) and also a huge risk, so not surprised why the top mmos are still the mmos recommended since a decade ago. It's a stagnant genre, with jaded niche playerbase. Also f2ps are not actually cheap, they're made to make money, and while yes you can control your fomo for it, game features WILL be designed around it and will frustrate you, they will make it grindier, more rng, create problems and sell the solution. Player market will be a whales game and you will always be 2nd class citizen on it. Bots will ruin the economy and immersion. I much prefer the sub based one if i can avoid all of those, even if i much prefer the f2p model myself.

The best MMORPG game, for me. Played it when in Closed and Open betas, then bought some subscription cards. The game was amazing. The Soul Tree was complex but also pretty straightforward. The dungeons... oh god, the dungeons. Lots of hours and fun in the Iron Tombs :D LOTS of hours mining ore and crafting weapons and armor. The game has script support and I got one that showed the ore locations on the minimap so I would set a route and go around it for hours to mine. As a warrior, some skills give you 1 Attack Point, and you can accumulate 3 of them. You then have skills that use the Attack Points, dealing more damage the more points you have. You get to a point you have dozens of skills, so I coded an AutoHotKey script to just press 1 to cycle through Attack Point awarding skills and 2 to use Attack Point usage ones. PVP was also really nice. You get to a point that some areas are contested, so if you enable it, you enter open PVP, but i preferred the Warfronts PVP, which are maps designed to play a PVP session, like 10v10 or something, and with objectives like control some points, "capture the flag". Awesome! I was a Warrior with the Beastmaster (could summon a pet companion to explore with me, as i was too much of a singleplayer person), Riftblade (ability to use elemental powers, although wielding swords) and Paragon (skill in wieldind dual swords, my favorite type of character) classes ;) That's all i can say for Rift, an awesome experience. Shame they went for the P2W type of content.

If the combat was less floaty it would be one of my fav mmos ever.

I played Rift when it was brand new and really enjoyed it. But I totally get where you're coming from looking at it today. And looking at so many other MMORPGs as well. It doesn't do anything really "wrong" but it doesn't do anything to hold my interest either.

I love that everything he wanted in the game you can actually do therefore 10 out of 10 😅

Rift was special when it had Game Masters managing the "Rift" events and PVP invasions. But it was unmaintainable and you couldn't employ people for decades just managing the same system 24/7 so it lost all it's character and just became a regular old MMO. The devs definately still tried for many years to keep the game alive without Game Masters, really hard and often still entertaining. But the original pitch - the Rifts and Invasions never came back as the main selling point front and center.

How did you level? I was stuck on equipping your horse with no money. I bought coin which never showed up. Its a scam.

This game used to be amazing. The best PvP experience I've had in an MMO, just under Wildstar. I'd level alts solely through PvP Warfronts, mess with fun builds, it was great. You can't even get a warfront to pop if you queue for an hour now.

Sounds like this game is too much for you to handle maybe go back to checkers .

I would love a remake of phantasy star portable 2 and dlc. The pacing of story and gameplay was balanced, i wish that was around.
