Maybe they should implement an exp-modifier depending on the time the battle lasted. So if your team manages to win within 5 mins, your exp should be significantly multiplied because it implies that your team did really well (or the enemy team really bad). Matches that last the full 20 mins on the other hand, tend to be decided by personal actions, so you wouldnt need a high exp modifier for the whole team.

I hate the fact you get rewarded for damage at all. Yesterday, for example, I played my Shimakaze and capped B at game start. A friendly Hindenburg made a (ultimately wrong) bet about the enemy moving to B and hid while I capped, but joined me at the very last to help shoot the enemy Z-52 (and regrettably flunked his shots). Z-52 escaped barely alive, and I was half-chunked by the Des Moines who go a radar on me for a little while (I did plan on him doing that, so I survived). I then moved towards C, as slowly as possible due to a spotter aircraft barely beyond my air visibility radius, when the friendly Iowa (sitting behind the C island with 5 other ships) started insulting me for "doing nothing". I moved to C and capped, finished the Z-52 and ate away most of the enemy Gearing with my OP Shima guns (lulz). I also torped at the ingress points into C as the friendly ships finally came in to help cap (and share the cap flag... lol). Iowa kept raining HE on the enemy Izumo, eventually inducing both enemy BBs to reconsider their tactics and avoid my torps (but hey, they did not push in C, so that's good for me). About half-way into my cap, Des Moines started being visible intermittently into the B cap (which eventually fell), but apparently radar cruisers are very low priority for most BB players. I then pushed out towards the BBs, pointing out in chat the necessity to deal with the Des Moines, trying to move to a position where I could keep it spotted while topping the enemy Izumo and FDG. I got perfect torps lined up, but eventually the Iowa killed both, and died to the Republique who had moved into a position to broadside him thanks to its remarkable "stealth" while firing (lulz). A had fallen early on, and Stalingrad and Des Moines then moved in to catch me even though I kept spotting them and calling target. We lost quickly after I died, with the Iowa calling for me being reported for being a noob and an idiot. I got second place with two caps, many defend flags, two kills and 4 torps (only...) on target, and Iowa got the top place with his citadels and farmed damage. That's what annoys me: he actually lost us the game with his bad support, wrong positioning, weak target choices and in-chat behavior, but his damage reinforces his conviction that he's doing it right. Shooting very accurately should not be rewarded at all, because it *already has a reward* in that it eliminates ships from the equation. Farming damage should not be rewarded, because it encourages very bad play behavior. *Aware that complaining on KZfaq will not fix anything, but hey. Less frustrated now.*

@@maianoguillaumeYou have a very curious perspective that 'farming' damage shouldn't be rewarded.... Do you mean that not utilizing your ships strengths in cooperation with reading the map, ship placements and methodical strategy is 'farming'? So the ultimate rewards should go to the guys who charge in, have no strategic angle to maximize potential damage, get focused on and deleted, but hey, they stood in the way for a bit... that's the qualification for xp? Hmm.... I generally get killed most battles but I tend to do significant damage while engaging the enemy ships as much as possible and minimize my vulnerabilities. When I'm in a BB I almost never give up cits and usually get burned down. As a cruiser I land more often than not all my guns on targets instead of just one set while having an escape plan, as well as sight of targets who can hit me. I don't use the threat indicator because why? If you watch and not fixate you should be able to recognize those threats most situations. Funny how there's many different perspectives of who's the more valuable player when styles of play are only one aspect. You have 11 other teammates and my suggestion is learn to work with all of them. You can't win them all, but with 2 decent division mates you can increase those odds.

@@francischambless5919 Thanks for your input Francis! I think I have been unclear ass to the definition of "farming damage". Let's define "farming damage" as "prioritize targets/ammo based on the final damage total rather than on the likelihood of tactical/strategic improvement for your team". High damage is not a bad thing, and as you say, charging in to be deleted is inefficient and detrimental to the team. The problem however is that standing back and farming damage as a BB/cruiser means your DD won't "charge in" either, and hence the enemy gets the cap, and you lose the game. I've seen most of the games last few weeks show beautiful red caps because no one cares about the caps, everyone and their grandma is farming damage, because you get better results, stats and XP if you have been burning a high heal BB for 10 minutes than if you killed another, already damaged, for example. As to the teammates, I find my games are cut out in three groups: - either my team steamrolls the enemy, with at least two great players who do huge damage and multiple kills, push hard and nuke a flank before coming around - or my team wins relatively evenly - or my team loses bigly. I have reached the point where I can with 90% certainty tell within 2 minutes if the game will be in the third category. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn the situation around, with any ship. In that situation, I usually end up top player in damage, often in kills, and often with a cap or two. In the second case, I sometimes get great results, but mostly I do about the worth of my ship in damage, and get cap assists. The first case, however, is where I get very little success. We win easily, ships disappear before my shells connect (I have had over last weekend a dozen citadels with BBs of less than 200 HP. That's what happens when the only citadel you get in a game happens when the ship suddenly loses 90% of its HP a few seconds before your own. shells hit, because another player saw the same opportunity and had faster shells/reload or better positioning), and even caps are taken before my ships arrive there. All in all, I agree: using your team is the plan. It's just very, very hard to fight when your cruisers and destroyers turn around once you committed your high-visibility Japanese/Russian Battleship to a course towards, say, Yamatos and Shimakazes, or Sinop and Warspite, or when the supporting cruisers and battleships evaporate and run away while you cap in what was a good position, but is rapidly turning into a death trap because of unchecked enemy pushes. And while this might happen because the enemy is playing better, or because your teammates made mistakes, or even because you made mistakes yourself, it too often happens because the players prioritized the damage dealing over the tactical choice, which is what I defined earlier in this post as "farming damage". Hence, we lose the game because some players chose damage over efficiency. I hope my point is now clearer, and I wish you fair seas and fun battles, Francis!

@@maianoguillaume I believe we're on the same page then. It is aggravating when BBs don't provide a more aggressive posture as this is what they're mostly designed to do. Your ability to devastate a DD in a cap is far more likely if you route your BB strategically closer than taking pot shots at max distance. Same goes for cruisers which is my point. Overly safe players let others take abuse at their leisure when their combined firepower at closer distances (strategic positioning pertaining), could decimate enemies faster permitting both ships higher remaining health. It sucks when you are the only one getting hit. I try and message my intentions early and keep an eye for support. If none look to help I'll change plans and mention it. Drawback of solo play.

@@ivvan497 nah there's a difference between real depression and attention grabbing. Real deppression means being unable to talk about your feelings, the whole purpose of psychiatrist is too allow you to feel comfortable to confront your issues.

@@ivvan497 Whether you believe I have depression or not that is your choice, and being depressed isn't just about being unable to say what you feel. To be brief, my depression is situational; I am not affected by it all the time, but when it hits, it hits hard. I mentioned it to explain why I needed something to cheer me up. If I really wanted to make it a depression post, I would've explained what is currently making me feel depressed, and make it as sad a story as possible. When i play my Jean Bart, i'll gun the engines until i get to the flank and start turning forward towards the fight. Then i throttle back to about 1/4 - 1/2 depending on the fight and how much and type of resistance i'm faced with. It seems to be a fairly good pace. I've sent Jingles a replay when i actually did move up just a but too far and found myself face to face with an Iowa and an enemy Jean Bart. Immediately hit the reverse and used the speed boost and neither one of them could catch me and both died trying after about 5 minutes of me punishing them both

So you are saying you were faster moving backwards than them in a French battleship? Makes sense.

also, salem heal only heals 10% cit dmg(just like most heals) but uk heals not only heal more, but they also heal 30% cit dmg. so salems heal is something between a norm and uk heal
