Comparing the Watt/Puppy to Sasha V would be more interesting as they have the same drivers, and the Sasha is a result of improving the original Watt/Puppy over generations. Also the cost is closer to each other and one is not 2x the other. Is it possible such a comparison would convert potential Sasha buyers into Watt/Puppy buyers? A local dealer had a Wilson rep and an event around the Watt/Puppy last week and they do sound very good.

„… is a result of improving the original over generations.“ Well, if we really would compare a W/P from about 20 to 25 years ago you‘d be stunned how little improvement in regard of sonic quality really have happened! I know that the wheel has to keep on spinning and revenue has to be made…but THERE ARE NO REAL IMPROVEMENTS MADE IN SPEAKER DESIGN SINCE DECADES! If one likes it or not. We’re NOT talking digital revolution, the internet or AI here. But people more often than not tend to believe what the brochures and the marketing speach tells them. Because „newer is always better“, right? 😉. Another point is: even Wilson says that a bigger volume speaker has more lifelike authority than a small box. Therefore the Sasha actually HAS to be better in this regard…

This is an excellent video with its variety of comments on multiple aspects the speakers and their contrasts. Especially good was the "Friend of Audio Excellence" feature, harkening back to the gentleman who talked about his MSB purchases in one of your previous videos. It encourages us to know that HiFi can be enjoyed without being a snob or uber wealthy. The joy of music is accessible through all its evolutions. The images that are edited in are also great. I may only aspire to a Wilson speaker, but learning about them and how to listen to sound enables me to enjoy my Sonus faber speakers and the music I hear with them all the more. Provoke polka people at your peril!

Great review guys!!! I have been considering the Sabrina X’s but after listening to your review I’m going to check out the Watt Puppies. Adrian, you mentioned you used the 462 and C2800 with the watt puppies. I’m curious about your thoughts with the McIntosh driving them since this is the setup that I have been evaluating the Sabrina’s on. Love the combo with Sabrina’s but would love your thoughts on them driving watt puppies. Thanks

When Wilson stamps the name Watt/Puppy for the 50th anniversary it better be great because it is what made their speakers "iconic". Paul gave a clear distinction between the speakers and also a straightforward comments about how he heard the speakers based on the music he was familiar with. He should be a regular guest on future reviews.

This illustrates the difference between the audiophile analyzing the sound performance and the one who tells what he feels and experience with his soul connected to the music ( Watt Puppies ).........I got away from analyzing audio performance only to enjoy when a system connects you to music ....two worlds that separate musical reproduction , one is capable to let you forget the word reproducing ..........the marketing is stearing the high end market essentialy into one direction for many to follow.... thank you for the upload, interesting as

Adrian - Request: Since you listen to classical piano music would you comment on how the speakers do with classical piano music. 99% of my listening is to classical piano music. The sound of the Bosendorfer, Bechstein, Steinway, Kawai and Fazioli is where most speakers fail. Thank you. Great video.

Ironic that you should ask as I did most of my listening with classical music. Absolutely brilliant. Listened to many of my favorites, Martha Argerich, Lang Lang, Barenboim, Ashkenazy… as long as the music was magical, so was the musical connection

Hi Adrian. Paul is a great guest addition. My question, and maybe this could be addressed in Part Two, is when I hear a speaker is very detailed and such, I associate that with fatiguing over longer listening periods. While when playing great recordings I'm sure this is very entrancing, when playing the many less than great sounding recordings we all still love, is the Sabrina X the more enjoyable listen over the long haul with its warmer, more forgiving tone in contrast to the WATT/Puppy? I always appreciate when reviewers address how a higher end speaker handles less than stellar recordings. I don't want a speaker that just sounds great on audiophile grade recordings but makes lesser recordings somewhat unenjoyable. Would love to see you and the group tackle this in Part Two. Thanks again for all the great content you provide.
@adrianlow2114

I have the WP7's that I bought new in 2003 that replaced B&W 801 Matrix. I have never regretted that decision and when considering, possibly, a new speaker system, I audition those speakers and have yet to listen to anything that blows the 7's away or makes me feel like I don't have enough speaker. I paid $22,500 then so now that the price has almost doubled, will I get twice the performance and pleasure? Just saying. Let's keep it real, most of us worked for a living and $40K is a lot money. I will just "suffer" and continue to enjoy the power and detail the 7's bring and keep close to $20K in my pocket. Used Wilson's are better than most other brands IMO so keep that option open.

@adrian thanks for the honorable mention! 😂 Paul’s watch is an easier guess; I will go with MB&F Legacy Machine 101 with white subdial and blue main dial. This watch is distinctive given its off centered approach of the time and center feature is its winding spring. So I will go with that guess. Fingers crossed that I’m in the ballpark for that guess. For you, this is the part that I had talked about the curved vs flat cases. Yours look to be a flat case, so I am leaning towards a Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso, bracelet obviously. The watch case has what seemed to be the horizontal ridges, and again if my limited traveled vision does not fail me, I think that’s a pretty distinctive JLC case design. As for which Reverso model it may be…well, sky’s the limit! 😂 Lewis/Louis has on an Apple Watch (5th generation, space black aluminum finish, GPS only, no LTE) 😂 I’m kidding. And Mike was not wearing a watch 😉 Happy weekend all!

Doesn’t the „not an audiophile“-guy praise exactly the audiophile qualities of the W/P ??! Wondering if the new W/P still „holds the music together“ and not overly highlight the blings and pops of instruments more …and for that reason at first people are stunned but might not be able to listening to it for more than one hour before getting kind of nerved and exhausted…(?).
