Please, folks, don't ever go off the air. I'm 75, a disabled vet, born is Dayton Tenn. I lost touch with my roots there because of military service, but it's never left my heart. The food and the conversation, as well as the spiritual values allow me, as a shut in, to feel closer to the best parts of my life. And that's because of y'all. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. God bless you, all of you. And once again, keep on keeping on.

William 1942 - I hope you are still doing well. I'm 69. It's been a rough last couple years. I also live alone. Thank you for your service. My Dad was in WWII in the Pacific. He and you fought to keep our freedoms and our Constitutional Republic. But that has been lost. The criminals in DC working with the deep state have overthrown our government, and we the people. Our election was stolen from us right out in the open by these criminals, who will stop at nothing to destroy America. They are godless and evil.

I am a granny. If you mix your cornstarch with your spices and add it to your meat mixture it should not clump up. Then add your water to your meat mixture. Try it just a little bit and see if it doesn’t work for you. If you need to add a little more cornstarch to your finished dish mix a little sugar in it and salt or spices something that will separate the cornstarch from itself and add a little bit more to your dish. Should not have a lumping problem. I hope this helps. Thank you for all your wonderful recipes I love listening to you and I love that you talk about our Lord. God bless you my sister in Christ.

I clicked on this video to get this recipe to make your grilled cheese chili hot dogs. Every night my husband and I would hold hands and say the Lord's Prayer. Then we would go on and say our individual prayers. Our dil shot and killed our son. They had been married for over 17 years. He had asked her for a divorce. We could not get passed the part "as we forgive others who transgress against us. Several weeks passed with us trying to pray and we couldn't. We talked and talked about trying to forgive. Finally, the Lord answered our prayer to make us able to forgive her. Our prayer life improved and we were comforted. This happened 2/1/2020. The trial has been postponed due to covid and her attorney having medical issues and is now scheduled to begin 11/2/2022. Your prayers are greatly appreciated as I will be going by myself. My husband passed away in May of this year. Thank you.

Becky, you are so right about forgiveness. I have suffered a broken heart for 30 Yrs. for things my only child has done to me. She even went for 15 Yrs. without answering a phone. I have forgiven her long ago even though I+ never knew why she hated me so much. I have prayed so long that things would be different. I have turned it over to God and thank him for all the blessings he has sent my way. Always enjoy watching you cook. May God bless you.

When you realize that forgiveness is meant for yourself and not the other person, your life will change!!! I struggled with forgiveness for a particular person for a very long time. When I realized that I could forgive her and not have her in my life …. I changed. I prayed about and prayed about it…and when I realized what forgiveness is, God removed such a weight from my shoulders.

Looks great! I’m going to try it. When I was a young girl (way back in the 80s) a lady at My church Mrs Hatfield, made home made hot dog chilli. Once a month she would make a big batch of it for our Sunday lunches. It was the best stuff ever. Those are some good memories with good tasting food and fellowship. Mrs Hatfield passed away many years ago,my mom wished she would of gotten the recipe from her. So I’m going to make your recipe and see if I can create some new memories. Thank You 🙏🏻

God bless you, Becky. You've said just what I needed to hear today. To still love people is one thing, but to actually let go of what they've done to you is another. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our pain, we don't even see that it's possible to get over it, to get past it, to let it go...forgiveness is the key!

The other day I went to the grocery store for my monthly groceries with plans of making your hot dog chili recipe. I used turkey burger, El Paso taco seasoning, honey, and Hunts ketchup. For those wondering, the recipe makes enough for a 24 oz jar. After filling my jar I just had to make a hot dog (it was 8pm). It was delicious chili. Also, I did watch your latest video about going home. It's a great Bible lesson. Thank you for all you do. God bless!

I know this is an older video, but my granny has always made her hot dog sauce with ketchup and people go nuts over it! The ketchup gives it a little more Flavor than tomato sauce or paste. Her recipe is super simple: hamburger, ketchup, paprika, chili powder, salt and pepper, and occasionally a chopped onion, depending on who she is making it for. I'm going to give your version a try, as the taco seasoning sounds like a delicious addition! Thanks Becky and hope you are fairing well! God bless!

My oh my did I need this message and clarity. I was adopted as a child because of traumas from a sick mother. Later, as a teen, endured other traumas and then because I didn't forgive, and learn healthy coping skills, I turned to drugs. Through hard work, turning my life over to the Lord, and submitting to HIS will, and FORGIVING others, I have peace AND joy in my world today. A major part of my recovery was and will be forgiveness. I am so very grateful for God's grace in my life. Anyway, I could type a book about things, but I just want to thank you for His reminder to ask for forgiveness and to also forgive. Hate in my heart consumed me, just ate me alive. Also, from one woman to another who enjoys cooking...KEEP UP YOUR CHANNEL! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Jack Parker who are you to say the Mormon church doesn’t have truth? Has God told you straight up the Mormon church isn’t true or did you come up with that assumption yourself? Jack Parker I’m not trying to fight with you but you’d have to sit down with some who really really knows the church because I haven’t been to church in years but the Mormon church is a church of god like anyone else they’re not perfect but god is in that church like everywhere there are people who dnt do it right. The church does talk about those two versus and the biggest thing about the Mormon church is forgiveness they take the sacrament in forgiveness and remembrance!! The church isn’t perfect but a lot of your believes are similar to the Mormon church believes

I don’t think it’s any small coincidence that I’m here watching this video today. I was going through looking at your older videos, and watched this video and the hoe cake videos back to back. God surely had his hand in it, because I needed to hear those words about forgiveness. Almost 2 years ago, I suffered a major life altering event that turned my world upside down. I thought I’d forgiven, and moved on, but recently I’ve come to realize that is not the case. I need to take it Back to the Lord and work it through some more, I know now. Thank you for your insightful and uplifting message. It was something I needed to hear today. God bless you, and thank you again. ❤️

For me I had a traumatic childhood I had to learn to forgive so I could move on and I'll never forget when I forgave it was like a million pounds lifted off my shoulders. My kids say I'm the most forgiving person they know and you just can't forgive everybody for what they do. Oh yes you can. It makes life easier and it makes you feel better...... SO AMEN TO THAT😊😊😊😊

You are so right about forgiveness. Part of healing from my own assault years ago was volunteering with a womens center in my town. My heart grew heavy trying to talk to some of them about forgiveness. Some of them had been carrying hate for decades. It had destroyed their lives but the hate was like an old comfortable sweater and they could not throw it away. I couldn't let go of my anger until I finally understood that 1 day someone made me a victim but I kept myself locked in chains for years making myself a victim over and over. This is my story and my life and that person has no room in my present or my future. I had to evict him from my heart because he wasn't paying rent and I was sick of cleaning up after him. At first all I could do was pray there were no future victims. Eventually, I learned to forgive him and pray he would forgive himself and ask the Lord for forgiveness. Thank you for the chili recipe. I think I'm gonna love it! ~ Sherrie from South Carolina

Way back in the sixties, high school band parents, as a fund raiser, prepared chili dogs for the local football games. Our recipe used 20 pounds of ground beef. Today, this recipe is used for charity benefits, church bazaars, and at home for birthday parties or for our freezers. Ground turkey can also be used. Instead of cornstarch, we use a little brown roux. This is a great video and awesome message! This was the first time seeing this since I didn't find your great videos until the pandemic of 2020.

I'm originally from Lynchburg, Virginia. You could get the best chili dogs there (this was back in the '50s, 60s, and 70s). They were to die for, at least in my opinion. Chili, coleslaw, an onion relish, etc. I still crave them to this day!

First of all, I absolutely love watching you guys cook. Secondly, always remember Roman's 8:28 that basically says that God has a reason for everything he does. Whatever you are having a hard time with please know that God is with you and never leaves you. I've been through a lot of impossible situations and that verse along with the verse that says this too shall pass, has gotten me through it all. No worries... Just look up and be thankful for all that you have and all that you bless.

Hint: To brown the burger in tiny bits, mix the raw ground beef with water-- just enough to soften and separate the crumbles. Cook on high, until the water evaporates and the burger browns. Drain the fat, and proceed as usual. No chopping!

Hillbilly Kitchen Versus and Vittles-This is my first video I saw of yours. My dad took notes, went to the store for some great dogs and buns, and we had a great dinner. We never thought about cooking hot dogs in the oven until your video. Great idea! I love chili dogs. My dad said your personality reminded him of my great grandma because she was such a great country cook. :) Thank you for sharing about not holding grudges. I graduated high school in '97 and there was someone I held a grudge to for years. I needed to be reminded to forgive.

For an unexpectedly good variation, make a chili dog just this way, then spoon a layer on it of cole slaw (the sweeter recipe like from KFC). The creaminess and sweetness of the slaw just sets off the slight spiciness of the chili. Good stuff!

Oh, Miss Becky. I have looked and looked for this video. I had originally seen it about a year ago when I REALLY needed this particular message. I tried to find it again when i needed a refresher course, and just could not find it. I just remembered you standing at the stove, stirring something, which is a common occurrence in your videos😊, so I couldn't remember what you were making. It is so hard to forgive someone, especially a very loved family member when that person has hurt you so deeply you don't know if you'll ever get over it. But, even though I had forgiven that person because Jesus commanded that I do so, I also knew that I had to forgive with and from my heart, and that was much harder to do. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this message. I just totally felt the heaviness leave my heart and out loud said "thank you, Jesus, and thank you for this beautiful, sweet soul." You are such a blessing and a total inspiration. Thank you, again Miss Becky. And, thanks for all the wonderful recipes - some of which my Grandma used to make, but never had a recipe for (I'm 76) - it was a pinch of this, a pinch of that, etc. A pinch can be a LOT different depending upon how big or small your hands are.😲

Becky, one of the things I appreciate the most about you is your humble approach to God. Your message about Forgiveness is priceless. My personal testimony is that God released me from all unforgiven feelings a long time ago. I've been happily married for over 30 years now and, at 70, I'm as healthy as an ox because all the poison of unforgiving was removed by Jesus decades ago! God be with you!

I agree, Becky, forgivness is one of the cornerstone's of life. Forgetting is something else, and I battled a long time before I realized it's okay to not forget. I thought you had to forget in order to really and truly forgive. But with forgiveness, the pain does go away at least to the point you can live with it. Forgetting is another thing. But I have found that even forgetting is eased at least when you forgive. The three most beautiful words in the English language are, I forgive you, I'm sorry, and I love you.

Becky, the reason why the 97% lean is sometimes cheaper is because the meat processor doesn't have to measure the fat out and add fat to a lean trimmimg which is what they usually make hamburger out of. Less man hours to make. When the meat processor has really lean hamburger, it's usually because they have a bull to make the hamburger from. Bull meat is really lean whereas cow meat is usually fatter. It's a matter of economics when making the final product. We had a meat market for 47 years, that's how I know.
