Disappointing. The video was well produced, but I sat waiting through the whole thing waiting to see the jet car take a run down the track. With this complete lack of "payoff" in mind, this video does not live up to your usual standards.

For those wondering why you can’t see it in action, it’s because it can’t go that fast. The wheelbase is too small for the jet engine to actually force enough thrust to even come close to the specs mentioned. If it even got to the slightest point of the speed mentioned it would flip or lose complete control crushing and ultimately killing whoever is driving it. It’s a pointless pipe project

I dont believe it could go anywhere fast at all with a jet's intake shoved behind the dash of an enclosed space without the massive amounts of airflow they need in order to go... there should have been a plenum routing all the air into that dude..

I once saw a Smart car here in Australia just miss an overturning tipper truck before it flipped and landed on its side. The Smart quickly zipped past just in time. It looked like a watermelon rolling past a peanut

Those tires can't handle 300mph. Wasn't wind tunneled for anything over 200mph much less 300mph. Car's nose or body show no sign of modification. I say it's not safe to do so.

Dude, you forgot to put the Amazon links for the parts. There is no way i'm going to figure this out for my Impreza on my own. Could you please link the shopping list? It's not too much is it? I only have maybe a couple thousand to put into it at most...and by the way, it looks like you could do it with two rockets, one on each side.

I would believe it if we can see it go down the drag strip. i can not see how this would ever be able to run on the jet powered. the car is too light and probably be way too unstable and there is now downforce to keep the car from going air born. till i see it actually run, i'm call this a show car now thing more.

use an additional compressor for the air intake which currently is insufficient, the efficiency will still be very high assuming compressor energy losses of ~ 3KW , still the overall net work will still be very adequate. You cant expect to draw that much air for the intake from the cabin even if you assume the system has a constant mass flow rate, is isentropic and also isothermal, so how can you expect the intake to draw sufficient air in the first place.

If it’s not already obvious, the jet engine is for decoration yall. It spits fire and that’s about it. That engine would cook you if it was actually working, and I don’t see how it can take in any air from the cabin anyway. And then the fact that it’s so offset and there are no safety features in the car… it would achieve liftoff and be tumbling.

You guys didn’t build this! Or any of these jets! Tim Arfons, son of legendary Art Arfons, built this smart car and also several jet quads. Paul Stender built the school bus! These guys may have acquired/bought these vehicles but they definitely didn’t innovate or build them..
