I'm glad I saw this video notification come through because I've been asking if the Urban Logger came in composite safety toe on a few of yalls videos and on some reviews I watched and no one answered me. This looks like basically the same boot and probably what I'll order.

This is the builder pro which is basically an Urban Logger with a 10" shaft rather than 6".

Excellent craftsmanship! As a power lineman I’ve depended on well made climbing boots for more years than I care to count. I never heard of Nick’s and certainly would have given your boots consideration. Having retired, I don’t need them anymore. I was a Wesco guy, but again,I would have tried your boots. Beautiful well made boots! PS: I’m a bit surprised that you are using drop feed sewing machines while stitching the leather parts of the uppers, I would have thought you would use compound feed machines.

Anybody who argues these style boots are not worth 500$+, needs to set and watch this, the amount of labor is way more than i thought myself.

You'd rather break a Casio on a jobsite than a Rolex. Same logic follows here. These are great boots no doubt but leather has finite durability and destroying a $100 pair of boots hurts a lot less than a stunning $500 pair of boots. Only people wearing boots this nice on a jobsite are either electricians or supervisors.

The extra pieces added on the left and right side over the liner are there as extra protection for the toes and to make sure that the toes won't rub on the edges of the metal toe cap?

Nick's team, I see that you use lots of nails on the bottom of the boots, they seem really long, but I haven't seen the nails trimmed to size...what do you do with the nails that poke through to the inside of the boot? Your boots are awesome and I love the videos! Thanks!

There is a metal plate on the bottom of the last. The nails hit the plate and curl over. If they still stick up a bit, the guy at the end with the rebar and hammer hits them down. Then that’s covered over with a last piece of glued leather.

How long does the toe leather last w/ a steel toe? I'm starting a new job that requires a safety toe & don't know if I want composite or steel, but more importantly should I ask for a leather toe cap as well?

A blind friend just came up with an interesting question: do steel toes come in different widths and depths ? Is a B width different than a C with steel toe? Not the boot, the steel toe cap/piece whatever it's called?

Anyone have experience with the celastic toe? I'm up in there air about it. I would like to keep the shape of the toe box but don't want it to change the feel of the boot too much. Also, heard if they get crushed, you're basically stuck with the shape ...

I have the celastic toe in my builder pros. Doesn't seem any different than most mass produced boots with a "stiff" toe like military boots for example. I also have the "tall" toe which allows plenty of room for my fat foot with insoles

so on the fence when it comes to buying a pair of nicks anyone down in the comments here have any honest gripes with them? all videos i’ve watched say nothing but good things 500$ is just a lot for me to spend on boots

Nicks recommended sizing is a bit too snug for my taste. Measure your foot on a Brannock and get true to size. Also I don't really like the logger heel for general use. For cutting up trees they're fantastic, but my next Nicks will have a lower heel. If your job or life requires standing still for long then they aren't great. Too little cushion for that.
