This game gets a lot of flak. Technically, it's the best game in the series. The graphics are gorgeous, the music is mostly fantastic, combat is deep, and there are quite a few unlockables and branching paths. It's just too difficult for its own good at times, and that throws a lot of players off. Still, it's a great swan song for a great trilogy.

Are you seeing the same game I do? The graphics are butt-ugly, much worse than its two predecessor's graphics. It plays well enough so it's not a complete dud but it's one of the worst looking in-house-games from Sega.

what the majorirty of people misunderstood of this game is the feeling with controls... instead of a button smash, this game requires timing and precise button pressing to perform attacks (which are a lot in terms of variaty, compared to the previous games)... at the beginning this system can be disappointing (ad surely it does not feel like a golden axe game) but in the long term you will realise how this way to approach the attacks gives you a deep sense of strategy during the fight... Graphically, sure... it is inferior comapared to the other titles... but it has a good variety of scenarios and a more "journey" feeling. In co-op, it gives its best... and you can perform very powerful combined attacks as well as summon ultra powerful and cool spells...!

Here's what I know about Kain Grinder: He's a mercenary who took up arms in the war against Damned Hellstrike, his weapon of choice is the sword which he can swing swiftly and powerfully thanks to his superior strength. During Damned Hellstrike's rise to power, Kain's tribe was torn apart by the demon armies and many of his close friends were killed. Kain heard of a call to arms from a legendary dwarf Gilius Thunderhead and seeked to aid him and retrieve the Golden Axe. However, Kain's true motive was revenge against the demon army and Damned Hellstrike. Kain controls the element of water and can command tidal waves and even a large aquatic serpent ((the combination magic)) on the battlefield Poor man, he lost his close friends at the hands of the Prince of Darkness, even though he has a close friendship with Proud Cragger, Chronos and Sara Burn

LOL no it wasn't. It was a piece of shit that rightfully never really made it out of Japan (certainly never to retail anywhere) and a complete disgrace to the Golden Axe series (more so than even Beast Rider). It even feels like a massive step backwards from GA2, especially because of how the magic works here.

Kain Grinder is my favourite character he's a balanced character I remember collecting a full magic bottles once you press the magic button it will summons a tornado water

@Argilla the gamer instead we had an uninspired Golden Axe 2 with worse graphics than the original, less enemy variety and as short as Golden Axe 1. The series evolution was pitiful

This is a fine beat em up. It’s just unfortunate that for certain enemies and bosses, you have to use cheap, repetitive moves to get past cheap blocking.

You won't get the golden axe even if you defeat the last fellow. You should have reached level a in the marking by the time you reach prince of darkness and kill him. It's not easy, but every enemy got some trick. If you know the method, it becomes easy. You can't play this directly on android screen. You will need some joystick or something.

Longer than Golden Axe but not Golden Axe II, Golden Axe is a 20-25 min game, Golden Axe II is 118 min game. Not an easy game to play much like Golden Axe and Golden Axe 3 as my favourite.

I downloaded that in amdroid but the ending was different I didn't face the last boss with golden axe, after I defeated the boss the princess came then that was the ending do you know the reason why?

The death screams sound like old laddies falling over.. Now I can't unhear it. This trilogy was great though, only played the first myself, but the music was top notch. 2nd probably the best, this ones music sounds too funky like streets of rage or something.

Sega clearly could have done a much better job with the visuals here, even pushed more enemies on screen too--Streets of Rage 2 proves this without a doubt--but the game itself looks like a solid third entry in the Golden Axe series.

So, looking at the bigger picture, they're underwhelming. I mean, even the creatures you ride are so sappy compared to the cool-ass dragons in the first game.

I don't get why this wasn't released in the US. The Genesis was at its peak in 1993. Golden Axe 3 I thought was one of the best games on the Genesis. The only thing weaker was the magic but graphics and game play were great and the enemies weren't as dumb as a stump like the first 2 games ( which I also liked but were very easy to best)

*I LIKE* how the gryphon daemon is telling how it will not be easy to fight him "NEXT" time. Even as a child I always wondered why would not evil characters fight hard in the first place. It is a funny stupid ploy to drag the game.
