It's sad to see such a big park being empty, as you said the bigger the park the harder it is for beginners. Well done for promoting.

So what skates are these, they don’t look familiar…New micro ones? Is this why your in Shanghai? 😱 Also great vid. Weird that they painted the square edge? Do you think these were built just to say “we have this massive skatepark, come visit us” ? All for show?

If you wore safety pads you'd probably adapt to this new environment much faster. You could relax so much more knowing you were somewhat protected.

A youtuber is coming to visit our park, we need to paint all grind edges right away, so it looks nice. Grind rails are there for looks, what else are people using them?

I visited here back in 2016 and it was like sandpaper 😅 can’t even imagine how rough and weathered it is now! All the ramps are hugeeeee and then with the super rough cement it’s extra scary 😳

Also here in Tokyo there are many " public" skate parks that don't allow inline skates.

I've just started inline skating as I haven't went out much after covid happened and I was waken up at 2am a few nights ago due to the cats getting in to the forbidden cupboard and started watching skating videos on prity much anything I could think of, I was watching some of the beginner tutorials and I thought why would balancing be so important, I now know why, I'm still trying to find my balance but I've only been doing it for a few days, around 5 or 6 hours total

Sounds like China is in the 90s, early 2000s, regarding skateboarding. Only not socially, but politically. On the flip side, it is so good when I see people have fun together regardless of what they ride; skateboards, inline skates, scooters, whatever.

Cement is so rough in this skatepark, so scary! Some years ago I watched some clips by Joe Atkinson skating the big bowls in SMP - and of course he ripped the fuck out of it.

"It's so hot" yet wears black shirt that will absorb a lot more sun than a light colored one would. Wears jeans....what were you thinking? Who wears jeans on a hot day? Yeah they breath somewhat but it's denim, a very heavy cotton. Pssst.....we something called shorts. You know it's dripping humid there. To keep cool there you need a snug fitting, very stretchy, cotton shirt. Tshirt or sleeveless as long as it covers your shoulders and up to your lower neck area. Soak it in water and see if THAT keeps you cool. Works for 2-3 hours. Yes, it's comfortable because it will act as a cooling second skin and will move with you because it's stretchy. There may be fabrics that work even better than cotton.

6:18 when I think a big skate park I think a skate park but is the size of like five football fields put together that’s a big skate park to me but like big obstacles know that’s dumb and a waste of money because not everybody wants to die, trying to do something

It was designed by Pro’s with no thought that chinese park users would all be beginners. It’s surface is rough because it’s around 20 years old and the quality of the cement that was used used, wasn’t the greatest grade. With what China spends on large cities and infrastructure they don’t use , they should demolish it and start new.
@powertrip6426
@powertrip6426 3 ай бұрын
I think you may be referring to the myth of China building "ghost cities" when you said infrastructure they don't use. That's just called proper planning and people end up living in those areas. That whole thing has been pretty thoroughly debunked. Although I do agree a renovation would be rad

That cement looks like a cheese grater. We have some cool oldschool bowls in my town. But the cement is so crusty. You can’t learn it the bowl case you can’t afford tofall. I fell with my big vert skating knee pads in one. My knee pad got stuck to the bowl and my knee came out of the pad and got cut up by the stupid thing. That’s how rough it is. Really disappointing.

Look I love you and your content but I feel there's a bit of a beef between vert and street/flat ground skaters. I'm a vert rollerblader but I am terrified to grind, while you think vert is scary we vert skaters are just as scared as you when it comes to flat.

It's so random.. why is it so empty?? But the concrete and finishing look really poor. Maybe a super smooth surface wouldn't work due to the humidity and weather?
