Thats actually a really cool idea. i´m someone who allways enjoyed have something i use, no matter if its a dart or something else to be as efficient as possible even tho the results might not even vary at all. I just like to have a game and know for myself that everything i use is in a top condition, like i usually clean my darts regulary and stuff like that just to get put those extra few days of lifetime in the end maybe .. and this looks interesting.. need to try it :)

I used "plumber's putty" and found it works well. And you can get a 1lb brick of it for about the same price you pay for 1 ounce of the "pro" dart stuff. And you can use it for other things. A little sticky, but easy to work since you're only breaking off little pieces. Matched weight on all my darts using this cheaper alternative.

Also, your comment on balance vs weight is 100% correct due to the gravitational nature of objects that go through a stabilized flight path (darts are stabilized by their shape and their flights) so if you get grief for that, I'm behind ya.

I would like to experiment and bump up one of my sets of soft tip darts from 18g to 20g. So adding 2g of this titanium putty. Would like opinions on the best way to do this. Should I add approximately 1g to each side of the barrel? This seems most logical to me. For reference I tend to throw my darts with a grip towards the front (tip side) of the barrel. Not sure if grip position would be a factor here. One other thing, after packing the putty in, does it stay in place? I wouldn't want it to come loose and be floatin around inside the barrel.

Hey worldwide, I feel like I need to do this because my arms are so damn short that I hit myself in the face a lot with standard 50mm steel tip dart barrels, so thanks for showing me that I could buy some shorter, lighter barrels and then beef them up! I'll still run into the problem of there not being many straight barrel steel tip designs that are around 43mm or less, but there are a lot of straight barrel soft tip designs that are. Is there any disadvantage to playing with soft tip barrels that have conversion points on them? I've seen you play awesome with conversion points so I'm guessing not, but I'd still love to hear your take. Thanks!

Nothing like some vodka to reduce the shake when doing precision work ;) All I can say is that this is easy as heck when using the proper (dry!) putty. This was a nightmare with the sticky putty, even inserting it without sticking it into the shaft thread (or all over your clothes...).

Good idea. My first thought was Monster Darts as well. Does the putty stay in the barrels? Like when you carry your darts not set up in a case or in your pocket, will it stay inside the barrels?

In general, whats the maximum amount of the putty can you put into a barrel?

how about using regular weights like add-a gram from dartshops? are they good too?

Have you noticed any change in the way they fly due to a shifted COG?

Hey worldwide. I have a set of unicorn core darts that are 21g and I want to take them up to 22g. They are even weighted darts. I would prefer to add the weight to the front if possible as I am a front gripper. Would it be possible to add the putty into the point hole and then repoint the dart?
