Hi, I've been talking and writing like your 2nd paragraph example and not focusing on the subject matter. How do you stop and learn how to stay focus on the subject? I don't want to speak with "word salad" or writing like it either. Any suggestion please? I'm really trying to improve my speech and writing at the same time. I was told, you write how you talk. Is it necessary to have a concluding sentence in a paragraph? I was taught to have a conclusion to end the essay, but never a concluding sentence in a paragraph.

@WorldwideSpeak
@WorldwideSpeak 2 жыл бұрын
@@ehsanullah6810 I believe that is where you are asked to write a response to a problem or argument. The best way to start is to choose which side to take - then support it with details. Remember to show that you understand the other point-of-view, but that it is weaker. Hope this helps!

@moulabux6176

what should be length of sentence and paragraph
@WorldwideSpeak
@WorldwideSpeak 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. It's a tough one! The length of your sentence depends of your level of English and what type of sentence you are writing. I am always more concerned with the QUALITY of your sentence more so than length when I am teaching. Is the grammar correct? Is what you are saying clear? Does the sentence make sense? You can probably guess that I am going to say the same thing about paragraph length 😆! When starting out, I tell my students at minimum try for at least 4 to 5 quality sentences to make a strong, purposeful paragraph. But remember - as you progress in English - paragraph length will vary depending on your type of writing and what the purpose is of each paragraph. I hope this helps. Best of luck to you!
