It's true, but I think inappropriate and/or inadequate dress is more a problem with the younger women and adolescent girls. Their judgment in these matters isn't fully matured. That's where parents come in, hopefully.

Thank you! Finally someone said it! I am back to my Baptist roots after 25 years of Charismatic nonsense. I began to question why are women wearing these clothes in Church. They wear spaghetti strap dresses..dresses with the back out...sleeveless or with the shoulder cut out.....and we wont go there about the jeans with all the torn places! We have lost our respect for the Living God.... sad days for the Church.

Men also should wear modest attire - I am from India and when I step out of the plane here I see both men and women dressed in ways that can tempt others. Ask the women what sort of male attire would cause them to sin.

I went to a church for a few years. I loved that church, still do. I learned the most there and my relationship with Christ grew. I went away for awhile and when I returned the church had basically been destroyed because the pastor had an affair. I found out with who and I was not surprised at all. I felt she had her hooks out, and tried to do this. What do they call that? Jezebel spirit? Some women just do that all of the time, maybe because they want to see if they can. It's a sickness of the spirit. Men beware, the adversary will try to bring you down. So instead of being flattered, be wary.

I have worked in many churches and military chapels. The respectful way to address this, which this pastor did not do, is to ask sone of the godly women to privately correct whichever female is dressing inappropriately. What this man did was simply blame women. The biblical way is to let the older women correct the younger.

@nancyjankoski1912 true, godly women should instruct other women who do not understand their responsibilities regarding proper attire for a Christian woman. Unfortunately godly women are rare, and if they tried something like that they would be seen as offending the culprits. On the other hand, pastors do have the authority to rebuke both female and male members when they become too worldly. That is one of their responsibilities, one which unfortunately, not many of them have the courage to fulfil. Blame needs to be assigned where it belongs, and wrong behaviour must be attempted to be corrected for the good of the offender and for the health of the Church.

I agree with you. Why did he even shout? Did he do a survey on sexual sin in his church first? In my church, we know that new Christians can take time to mature. In fact, some of the men have shared that they repented of watching porn and were counselled. I've had even a couple of Christian men make passes at me even though they know my husband. Grrr. It's the last thing they ever did. Neither in my church though. Phew.

I'm 69. I've been brought up in church circles all my life. I have never heard a Pastor challenge the congregation in such a way. Sadly, many leaders today need their egos massaged as well as their income. Consequently, they chose to sit in the fence rather than speak the truth. I expect there'll be some women who'll walk after this challenge.

Yep, many years ago i went to a big church, and this was a problem for many men, i heard it all the time, so, as i was on the music team, i brought it up with my pastors. Some of the dress codes there were far too alluring, according to many men, not just me, and even some of the women were bothered by it, but was told it was my problem and that it was worse at Hillsong, so we were not that bad. I used to say the exact same thing in this message, i shouldn't be having to look the other way from leaders on the team cos they were wearing painted on clothes and revealing cleavage. But of course, i was the man with the lust issue.

And it’s a reflection that the pastor is not addressing the issue unfortunately . I think it must be addressed. No one should even think of dressing immodestly in church! BTW, "somewhere" I saw an article on the the various negative effects of pornography and how it impacts people on many different levels which was very, very "eye-opening). I was born in 1963. I remember when a woman would show up somewhere in too tight pants and everybody thought it was odd, twisted, whatever you call it. Now even little girls wear skin tight pants, then the almost naked yoga pants. I'm sure glad I'm old and much wiser now, not that ida given into wearing men's pants with elastic ankles!

Went to a church and the pastor preached this, i was shocked but happy, however the assistant pastor was clapping agreeing ect, while his 17 year old daughtet wears belly free shirts, tide jeqns and no bra on, you get the picture......i really dont luke church anymore, it has become insanity, god bless this preacher and those who agree with him❤
