Another excellent video! Yup, they all behave as expected :) 12.0 nice for a desktop set, 12,1 for a small room, 12,2 should manage on a living room (European sized livingroom not US style ;) )

in my opinion the 12.2 covers the classic music and stuff, it sounds warmer and yet more detailled than the others. the 12.0 sounds more compact, with a good punch sometimes and the 12.1 sounds more punchy than the 12.2, but a bit less detailled regarding to classic music and a watch on instruments, and it´s good for harder guitar-stuff :)

I have a set of 12.1's in a stereo setup underneath my TV for about half a year now. Lovely lively warm sound, and I also use them for movies and series. Sounds excellent, however I am thinking about creating a surround set with some 12.0's as rear speakers. Wonder if that is a good idea or not...

Should cost twice as much for what you're getting. An excellent speaker line up.

The 12.2 is far and away the best balanced of these three siblings. It's the only one to my ears to have a properiy filled in midrange, and are satisfyingly musical. There are worse small speakers than the 12.0, but my less expensive Chinese made Micca RB42's I use in a small room, blow them away for overall balance, sweet rich midrange, and sweeter if slightly rounded off treble. And bass is in a higher league completely. There amazingly well engineered and built, although extremely inefficient, and need 80 to 100 clean watts to power to their capacity. I'd love it if you could give them a demo. Many would be surprised.

This proves that you get what you pay for, because the 12.2 sounds the best, and the 12.0 the worst. They all have similar highs, but the 12.0 sounds thin in the bass and mids, and the 12.1 still sounds somewhat muffled in the mids compared with the 12.2, which sounds the most balanced, natural, dynamic, and "grown up" of them all. However, if you prefer a bright speaker, you might just like the 12.0 the most, because the lack of bass makes it sound brighter. However, what bass it does have sounds tighter and less woofy than the 12.1 to me, but the tweeter sounds more shrill than the other two

12.1 to me sound balanced.

I dont know if the axa25 is the 12.1's personal saviour or the cxa81 is just making it sound like a toy; either way, careful pairing is needed for the 12.1. The 12.2 seem like will sound good with any amp, not sure about the 12.0. Maybe the lower crossover point on the 12.2 is giving it that edge. *MAYBE*

I originally got the Diamond 12.2 and it was a box of distortion and harmonics , awful speaker. I returned the 12.2 and got the EVO 4.1 and what a difference. The EVO 4.1 is light years ahead , the sound is crystal clear , the amount of clarity and details you hear are immense, the base is super deep and tight, much better than Diamond 12.2. And the looks are to die for.

Wharfedale first price were known for their insane lack of impedance reliability. e.g. they declared 8ohm compatibility, 4.1 or so minimum. In fact, a what hifi 5* (seriously?) 220 & it's big brother 225 yielded 2,3 Ohm within standards rates what made miserable my Onkyo A 9010 and almost ruined my NAD 316 BEE v2. You would add real warnings regarding products whose quality is below the acceptable, regarding how pretty they sound for a while. Affordable speakers shouldn't be build to switch them with 150 watts 2-16 Ohm range, mainly cause they just don't handle extreme frequencies and their performance is rather meh. All the best when rating bad components and all the honesty, too.

When going between this video and elac ub52 video it's like a night and day difference. Is it in real life like that too? Is UB52 a whole class above?
