You blow me away. Your ideas and talent, plus enthusiasm are like no other. I’ve dabbled in kitchen foil before, but nothing like this. I cannot wait to get a moment and do these. I belong to a local card group, we will meet on Feb 19 th of this month. We all bring un assembled cards to put together and do a swap. Now to find he right die or stencils. Ann, you rock my world. Keep that chin up.

If you have got some old felt tips pens, cheap kid ones , that are dried up and mix with some alcohol, rubbing alcohol is the best quality although 70% works well. Break the tubes of the pens and pull out the inner which has a enclosed fluffy wick. Add this and the old pen nib to about 10-20mls of alcohol and you have homemade alcohol ink. Be careful because it will be permanent.

Very pretty! I do tin foil projects with my students. We use markers and India Ink, and trap objects like poster board shapes, coins, and buttons underneath once sprayed with adhesive. It is one of our favorite projects. We also use a hot glue gun on illustration board, spray with adhesive then wrap and spread the foil over the contours, being careful not to tear it, working from center out. Never thought to make cards, but we have made mini desings and put a pin on the back to wear as jewelery. I love putting foil through my texture machine, as well. Also, I never thought to use stencils with markers. You are so awesome. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm a little late to the party, but I think the term you were trying to think of is cloisonné, where they usually do a colored enamel inside decorative metalwork or metal wire. Anyway, it's beautiful! Thanks for sharing the technique, even if I am a couple years late seeing it.

Yep, you pronounced it the way American's say Aluminum foil, but my son and I love the way you guys say it! So we will say it the way you do at times because we love it so much. All fabulous ideas, you never ceased to amaze me. I've uses foil before on a card, but never thought to color it the way you have with alcohol markers. Heat embossing on foil is genius! I will have to try that for sure, the addition of the coloring really brings it up a notch. My favorite though, was the "stenciled" poinsettia one, my gosh that is stunning! Although, I did love the tile one too, oh heck I loved them all! Great techniques using foil, you are genius Ann. Hugs, Brenda

The foil heat embossed quickly because it’s foil, and it heats! It also reflects heat. In the states the tape is often used by the air conditioning folks. You know aluminum has been used in wiring for a long time. Copper it better, but both conducts heat.

I prefer the non-colored ones, just embossing, and the white paint tile. I can see the tile one cut apart, popped up, ditching the 4th one, and leaving white card base “space” between tiles to make a lovely triptych! TFS.

Years ago I wrapped foil around my card stock piece and embossed with a folder that resembled tire treads. It served as the background for a sports car stamped image that was colored and cut out. I haven’t used foil in years, but this was a fun video to watch. (I never actually trimmed the foil, I just wrapped it around.)

I've used aluminum foil on cards for years. I've never used glue on the back of the foil, tho. Just put on the cardstock, fold to the back side, then tape it down with either double sided tape or even Scotch tape. I then emboss, then added to my trim card, then to card base. They've always turned out great. BUT ... I'm going to try some of your demos. They're beautiful!! Thank you

That way, I know, the ideas will stay in my memory, unlike other times I order something and by the time it arrives I haven't a clue why I wanted it! Sometimes though, I'll pause a video and take a photo or a screenshot. Interestingly, my foil had little diamond markings on it and I thought it won't matter for my trial go, but they disappeared, so no need to find a different brand!

Ann, I did want you to know you can get the aluminum foil tape in 4-5". They use it to seal ductwork for Aircondition and heating. So check those areas. You can die cut out of it but when you remove the back of the tape roll it wrinkles it badly. So I have learned to use a strong glue on the back of the tape release paper and it holds better. It makes amazing ornaments during Chrustmas season as well as phenomenal 3D texture fades, or embossing.
