120 chains (the number can vary more or less, you can measure your own head circumference) thanks💗🙏😊 I started myself with 120 chains, because the tire is flexible, it was not too narrow for my head.

How would you hook it together (& unhook) to use as a belt?

Your design work is beautiful. God has obviously given you a gift, with regard to heritage art. My only question is : can you possibly put together a video with directions in the captions? I'd love to know some important details. For instance, I had trouble following row one. Was it made using the "single crochet foundation stitch"? If not, then written directions would be very helpful to me! Also, how many stitches are in each long row, and how many stitches are there along the side /end edges, among other details. This design work looks easy enough, but I know how important the details are in my artwork. At some point I'd love to add this type of lovely, hand woven crochet design to some of my other artwork.
