@@CB-xr1eg Not too sure what you're looking at, my friend, but "mouth harp" _is_ another term for an harmonica. It's also called a "mouth organ" in some places, and I've even heard it called just plain "harp," which is super strange to me. Anyway, I've been playing the harmonica for a few years now, so I'm pretty solid on my terminology. But, if you can point me to some credible source that proves your point, I'll be happy to send it to my harmonica instructor to tell him he's been wrong all these years. 👍

I think he lacks Blackmore's dark and mercurial stage presence - and of course Blackmore was one of the originators of those parts - but Steve Morse is not only a very musical player but technically far better than Blackmore. Their current guitarist, Simon McBride, is also a far more gifted player than Blackmore. That is not always the point of course - Ritchie Blackmore is an iconic rock figure and the new material made with other guitarists is not of the same calibre as the songs written during the Mk2 and MK3 era, but it should be pointed out that out of Richie Blackmore, Tommy Bolin, Steve Morse and Simon McBride, Blackmore is the most important but least gifted of those 4 players.

You might prefer Blackmore - he is to many a heavy rock aficionado's favourite player - but the others are all better players in purely technical terms. Blackmore is great but has a very limited (if effective) bag of guitar tricks. Listen to Steve Morse playing with the Dixie Dregs and tell me that Blackmore could hold his own on stage in comparison to Steve Morse's incredible alternate picking and articulation - not a chance? As a player of Purple's music, of course Blackmore is great - he wrote the book! - but you are blinkered if you can't at least admit that guitar playing technique has moved on a lot since Blackmore plied his trade and learnt his craft with Screaming Lord Sutch and the Joe Meek house band in the 60s. He's a riff monster, an excellent blues player - he achieves what he needs to in order to make his music, but alternate picking, sweep picking, economy picking, tapping - the various techniques that guitarists have used in more recent decades to increase the vocabulary of the guitar - are a foreign country to Blackmore. Funnily enough, he is the only one of the four I've seen live (with Rainbow) and it was good, but he was no Gary Moore or Michael Schenker. He was a good showman but a slightly sloppy player - the distortion in his sound covering up for the lack of articulacy.

In 1985 Lazy was terrible - they upped the tempo too much and took away the jam, best example of 1972 Made in Japan or Live in Copenhagen.

Made in Japan is good but the cameraman was terrible when Richie plays guitar they don't show him enough when Richie plays you have to see him play that's why even live in Copenhagen is better on the lazy track

What I really meant to say is that, with some notable exceptions, you should NOT do a "first time reaction" to a performance by a band that is not the lineup that originally wrote the song. You can check out other versions later, but I think the first reaction to a song should be to a version by the original composers, or at least as close to it as possible. Otherwise you might as well react to a tribute band. Moreover, I just want to point out that Steve Morse IS NOT Ritchie Blackmore and, as good as he may be technically, he's a completely different guitarist than Blackmore and doesn't have the same sensibility or bluesy feel of Ritchie. And this song REQUIRES subtlety and a bluesy feel.
