Your question on confirming if Res sickness came from player Resses in your video. It did, I have the original WoW case buried somewhere and remember reading the guide one time and was confused as to why player resses gave res sickness. With in combat use it makes sense.

in truth, to be efficient in vanilla you HAVE to make research or ask people. getting spell resistant gear or specific gear and classes for bosses, figure out how consumables work, how talents and skills work and so on. stuff that was never explained in game, and without a database to pick you up. Nowadays it's doable to require some research for a thing in game - you actually have databases! you can't simply ignore the technological leap that there has been over 15 years.

This was my favorite patch in beta, I hit 50 on my 2nd character (Rogue) just before they implemented it, and Black Rock Depths was the biggest most impressive piece of content i had seen in any game ever. Spent weeks running it, figuring out all the different sections and boss encounters.

The boat thing was hilarious. I remember in vanilla my laptop was so bad that when I took a zepplin the loading screen would take so long to load that when it did the zepplin had already left and was about to hit the loading screen again. Almost infinite loop haha

For some reason, I always pictured MadSeasonShow as that inn keeper that always welcomed you after a long day of adventuring. He was always happy to see you, and was always glad to hear your stories and even share some of his own. Was always glad to assist you in any way he can and even pay for your drink out of his own pocket from time to time. Just hearing his tales would inspire you to keep going at it even if the world of Azeroth would spit in your face. Thank you MadSeasonShow for all the videos that you do and all the work you put into them.

I always pictured a "Mocking" blow being similar to flicking their forehead or booping their nose. How insulting is it to be fighting an opponent and they think so little of your honor that they boop your nose mid combat??

The closest real life thing i can think of is slapping the opponent with the flat side of your sword rather than cutting with the blade. And it served a similar purpose

Forage is likely another thing out of the 1,000 that WoW took from Everquest, it was just a small 1 minute cooldown that Iksar/Wood elves/Hobbits got innately, and Druids/Rangers also got. It basically allowed you to scavenge up some food/water from the surrounding area, with some other foraged items useful for completely Epic Quests, food/water in Everquest was actual sustenance vs. in WoW where it lets you regen HP/Mana faster.

As a matter of fact, they do. In one of their first conferences, they state their design philosophy is to make MMORPG's simple and intuitive (at least compared to the competitors), which it certainly was for its time. Nowadays, it's overly simplified and virtually anyone can play it, meaning their design philosophy hasn't changed, but gaming in itself.

On my feral in Wrath, I had 60% crit fully buffed. It was a bit insane. A practically unkillable tank in Wintergrasp that does mediocre damage. That goes a long way in pvp. Tanking a 5 man, I always topped the dps. Unless a mage aoe'd everything and made me earn my pay. And I remember a warrior..

They changed the game DRASTICALLY so many times before release. The current devs at Blizzard have NO CLUE of the greatness that was once employed at Blizzard. Through all of the ups and downs, WoW released functional and relatively free of problems or over-complications. ...and the current Classic WoW team can't even comprehend what made Vanilla special...let alone make any competent additions to it.

my priest was around lvl 30 at 0.9 I remember loving that Hunters were added; that you could throw 2 dots on them and they would run away from the zerg outside tarren mill to die alone over 20sec or so

I remember back in TBC as a Hunter you still need to level your skills in ranged to 300 and learn Using a Crossbow or a Gunq aside from equipping a Bow

a mocking blow is a a slapping or teasing strike that is meant as an insult to ones fighting ability , such as literally slapping them in the cheek or rump with the blade flat .

The path between Winterspring and Hyjal had a unique gate in live. At the undead event when you would turn into a ghoul you would be able to interact with doors and gates that you wouldn't be able to do normally. So I opened the gate of Hyjal it had a unique opening with pink clouds around it.. Unique effect! Wonder what else was interactable as a Ghoul.. some gates and doors in Stormwind for sure 😂 had other players stuck and confused

That old skill system is pretty interesting! You could build some diverse and interesting characters like that, but it'd need to have a limit or everything would be broken. Probably for the best that they went with the talent trees instead.

I feel as if I’m bursting with excitement for the release of vanilla , I truly can’t wait to experience it with you all and I so truly hope it stays true to what vanilla would have been like back then. Full time job is going to make it hard to play but idc, I wanna work to get to lvl 60 and hit molten core and just do it all! Cant wait. Do you guys thing it’s going to be accurate to the original vanilla version? Let me know !

Mocking blows are actually a real thing, and are very popular in fencing, kendo, or other weapon martial arts (usually during training), to taunt your opponnents, because you can't actually taunt them verbally (as you'd be a douchebag) ; and obviously, were also popular when sword combat was still a thing. And no, you don't insult your opponent as you hit him, it's actually an attack made in a way to disrespect him, for exemple, hitting him with the non-cutting part of your sword, or hitting in a fancy, over-the-top manner. And yeah, the warrior "taunt" spell is pretty much exactly what you did, which is insulting your opponent verbally, or screaming at them. The spell icon is even a silhouette visibly screaming. It might sound funny, but screaming and taunting is actually very effective in combat. For anyone who does any kind of combat sports, they know an angry opponent charging head first out of rage is exactly what you want. Edit : also great video dude keep it up !

I have never seen the barrow dens up there on Mt Hyjal - but that cave is the exact same (layout and all) as the one in Teldrassil - I remember doing a quest in there on alts. Never not getting lost in that damn thing.

I liked the old hunter/pet system. You had to take care of your pet and your pet would take care of you in return. Also liked the rogues having poison making as a skill, instead of just buying poisons.

It could have been immersive if auction houses communicated by mail, such that they got items from other houses but with a delay, and only on set intervals, and if you won on a different auction house it will be sent to you as a package. This way visiting every house could let you put an early bid. But otherwise you could find everything in a single house.
