Bibi is a Boss B. I will say this, the two dots under her eye are in memory of her grandfather who was a huge influence on her. Bibi is like the opposite of IU, IU comes across as light and airy, Bibi as dark and earthy. I would love to see them work together on a project just to see what happens.

Actually... it takes a lot of courage to do this kind of concept in Korea. Because it's never popular. It can't even appear on broadcast. There are harsh swear words and violence... However, her talent is too great to ignore. She is not called the dark IU for nothing. You probably already know IU’s status in Korea. It's like a dark elf in a fantasy world.

BIBI made the song vengeance after something horrible happened to her. she said that a man in the industry had done a horrible thing to her (probably abuse) and that if she revealed any names or denounced anyone they would ho to prison. considering this could also ruin her career, she decided to express her rage and desire for vengeance through music. she also said that she hopes that people who are going or went through hardships are able to express their anger through another means than violence. BIBI literally gives no f*cks about korea’s VERY conservative society, her tackling subjects like this in her music is VERY BRAVE, especially for a woman. she’s also openly bisexual, which (given how conservative the country is) is a very brave thing to announce publicly. most idols who have came out either had their careers ruined or just lost their popularity.

BIBI is not categorized as a K-pop idol, she is a normal artist on the R&B scene. But despite this, she has partnerships with K-pop artists and everyone likes her for her boldness

Every reactor’s first Bibi watch is always an experience. No one is ever prepared. I think she could have a real career in acting. Once you see how sweet she is in interviews, you realize how different her Lowlife Princess character is and the crazy performance is intense. Animal Farm and Kazino are similar to this. I've spoken before about how K-pop is a vehicle for societal change. There's a cadre' of female solo artists and groups who've had enough of the male dominated society and how women/Idols are treated, and they've gotten more and more outspoken and in-your-face as time has gone on. Interestingly, the male artists have mostly remained oddly silent on these issues. This is one of the things that has really fascinated me about K-pop. It's also one of the things that music has always been used for, and it's the first time we've had a chance to see such a well documented look into this phenomenon both front-facing and behind-the-scenes. I know that a lot of people don't like to, or want to, think about such things, but it's one of the things that's re-shaping K-pop, and a reason the girl groups/female solo artists are beginning to dominate K-pop. It's never a good idea to ignore or mistreat half of the population.

Fun fact: Bibi's little sister, Nakyoung, is also an idol...in the group tripleS! They are a new group with a very impressive concept (will spare you the details for now lol)....Group got awarded Rookie of the Year for 2023 and have put in some major work in only their first year (8 comebacks, 40+ songs, 2.2million yt subs)...quite a feat for a new/smaller company. Should check them out!

the story of the MV is that, at the beginning she’s attending the funeral of her gang boss (possibly her father or her husband we don’t know that for sure) but she’s smiling as she bows down (a gesture that is done to show respect) later, we see her being harassed by this man in glasses, he’s surely a politician or trying to become one (as we can see later when he’s wearing the green jacket and people around him are holding signs and chanting) when she puts this man on a cage he tells her that he didn’t do anything to a certain Kim Hyungseok: that was the man who died at the beginning and BIBI was at his funeral. at this point BIBI just laughs at him and asks him to get her her money back, but she ends up killing him anyway (burying him alive at the very end lmao). then after the MV ends we can see a scene where BIBI’s assistant came up to her and told her that Kim Hyungseok had been taken care of. which means BIBI herself had him killed to take his place.

It should be noted that BiBI is both an amzing artist, and good friends with Soyeon of I-DLE. One of the great present-day Korean artists.

Bibi have a lot of songs about abuse and revenge. She is an amazing artist. But often hang out on darker themes. But she is her own and worth listen to! Animal farm is a classic because the video is so over the top. For sure, a must watch but I will also suggest Joto, another song about abusive relationship but it's a very good song.

Bibi is a really good artist. She's very versatile in her music and she's even an actress too. Bibi does not follow the typical kpop formula and also never was a trainee. she was discovered on soundcloud and then signed with feelghood music, owned by tiger JK and his wife Yoon mirae, who are two hiphop legends in korea. Bibi sings about taboo subjects and real issues but does so in a really empowering way. Dont let this music video fool you, even though most of the stuff she puts out is pretty dark, she has some cuter songs too. I recommend you check out BIBI's song bam yang gang that came out a few weeks ago of you wish to see her range in concepts!

I'd recommend one of her "It's Live" appearances just to see the stage presence, or the MV for "Sugar Rush" or "Bam Yang Gang". "Animal Farm" is another great option, but there should be a violence content warning on the MV, so be warned if you pick it.

Lots of comments so far, so mine may be redundant, but...covering Bibi's 'Vengeance' opens the door for me. First, Bibi and (G)i-dle's Soyeon are definitely not strangers to each other. Go back a couple of years and check out 'Is This Bad B***h Number,' by Soyeon with Bibi and Youngji---three no-compromise young female rappers in kpop. Also, if 'Vengeance' teaches that you shouldn't p**s off Bibi, (G)i-dle's recent MV for 'Revenge' teaches that you really, really shouldn't p**s off (G)i-dle. Really good song, too. Finally, the third artist from 'Is This Bad B***h Number,' Lee Young-ji, is worth checking out as well. Amongst her other work, she did vocals for the song 'Blade' which is featured in the soundtrack for a recent kdrama called 'Knight Flower.' Knight Flower is a fun ride featuring a kind of female Batman set in Joseon era Korea (think swords, palace intrigue and elaborate costumes), and there is a video for 'Blade' that has a montage of scenes from the show. The song is upbeat and good fun for, um, a change of pace from all the intense vengeance. Cheers

Very welcome surprise to see you folks checking out BIBI, especially surprising that you started with Vengeance. Honestly I can't wait to see her in a real acting role, she's done some concept heavy music videos and really seems like she can get the emotions across in a scene -- though I think in Vengeance she ends up going overboard some of the time in scenes that themselves are a bit weird. Another couple of great acting MVs with great songs: "Um.. Life" and "Birthday Cake", be careful with Birthday Cake though It can be a real downer despite its short runtime. Also she's been back lately with an incredible song called "Bam Yang Gang" which would feel like a bit of whiplash if you were to listen to it right after Vengeance. Or "Sugar Rush" which wouldn't be much of a tonal shift at all haha. Dang I just love this woman.
