It's true, 800h is pretty crazy, but it's amazing what real maintainance can do. All these broken bikes on marketplace that have had multiple rebuilds after 100h-250h are pathetic. People just don't know how to look after these capable machines!

This! I did valves adjustments as per the manual on my crf250r. Coolant swaps, chain oiled every ride and the bike was fantastic. My 300xcw was the same way! Take care of your tools and they will take care of you. Motored or not!

A very cool "bike". - It reminds me of riding the full-suspension e-bike that I built from using a 1990s Giant Warp frame. It handled surprisingly well in a few feet of snow, and I discovered an unexpected tendency for the bike to attempt to remain traveling in a straight line, since it had standard wheels and tires, unlike the treads on the bike in the video. A conventional bike will carve a track with the front wheel, and then the rear wheel will be forced on both sides to remain in that track. So, it requires a bit of force to turn, proportionally varying with the depth and consistency of the snow. I have never seen a bike like that before. Thanks for publishing this amazing video... _John_

If you attach a hose to the bleeder at the wheel then loop it up to about 12 o'clock at the tire then place the end down over a drain pan and pump, it'll do it. Works on cars too. No helper, no syringe needed. Just a three foot hose.
@swamp-yankee
@swamp-yankee 6 ай бұрын
You can gravity bleed with no extra hose. Not sure if it would work on a sedan, but I’ve done it to every truck I’ve done brakes on.
@gorporpio
@gorporpio 6 ай бұрын
@@swamp-yankee When you usr a hose that loops up from the bleeder a couple feet, you can pump the pedal and know you're not pulling any air in when you bring the pedal up. Less mess too.

Re bold head direction: that's usually SOP with airplanes except with F-84/F-86(?) jets...per Chuck Yeager's book. He almost crashed when a wing slat didnt deploy because of a bolt that was suppose to be installed upside down per spec. The installation was traced back to an old guy on the assembly line who ignored instructions and followed SOP. Perhaps we'll find that the 737 unbolted "escape door" was subject to the same logic.

You loop it up. That way when you walk from the pedal to shut the bleeder, the fluid in the hose falls towards the bleeder and flushes any air that can come in at the threads and since you can aim the hose at thepan - less mess
