I think most of their training is just skill and the warmups are a big part of the strength training but I’m not completely sure

@@Qwertyuiop12417not true. The warmup is the warmup. Wrestling is very dynamic and exposes you body to movement patterns you didn’t think were possible. The warmup does its best to prepare your body for that.

@@Yutoijika537i played Football, really conditioned running back/linebacker. Trust me you would gas out, i did and i fell in love with the sport and quit football. Ended up ranked 27th in the state, only 3 years of wrestling

I swear to God I miss those days more than anything I can think of, gave me drive purpose discipline and recognition, something a talentless screw like me could only dare to dream of this one school sport kept me engaged long enough to get a diploma and I think this sport should be pushed praised and glorified more within districts

Start to train MMA man, helped me find what I lost when wrestling ended. Same type of workouts, brotherhood in the gym, etc. Really takes me back to that wrestling atmosphere and I love it 👍

You could Try MMA like the comment said above, but another sport I recommend is judo , its main focus is takedowns and throws , and even the warmups ( at least at the place I go to ) isn’t that different from wrestling. I even have a guy in my gym that did wrestling before starting judo and he said that some of the techniques transfer over between sports . Just make sure you get in shape before starting, cause the practice can get tiring.

@IbrahimKhan-mw6th As someone who does Judo, not really like this. At my dojo we do a lot of break falls, stretches and some rolls similar to the wrestling ones for our warm-ups, but we're definitely not doing the handstands or penetration steps.
