WRX Shifter Slop Fixed! Replaced Shifter Joint - 2004 Subaru WRX

Күн бұрынFinally got around to replacing the shifter joint on my wagon. 90% of the play in my shifter is gone!!!
Easily one of the worst jobs I’ve had to do on this car. Probably could have been easier if I removed some things to get them out of the way.
Took a few hours and a lot of frustration, but the way it feels now made the effort worth it.
Shifter joint part number: 35047AC030 (OEM from Subaru)
Spring pin part number: 633046020 (OEM from Subaru)

I did mine last weekend. With the front and rear shifter bushings, it took me half of Saturday and half of Sunday. It took lots of cussing and prayers to get this done. 😂

No idea why I didn't think to separate the pins, took that bitch to pound town for a few hours with no luck💀

I struggled with that for a minute before I thought about separating them too. Job was still my least favorite.

I did mine but my shifter is not in the middle. Now my 1st gear is in 3rd position everything shifted to the right.

same issue, 5th is leaned weird and sideways

@@jijibeatz i fixed mine already it’s the hole on shifter joint where the push pin goes. I used the old one took bushings from the new one and slapped it back with a bolt and nut.

how did you get the big pin started? I cant get it to go in at all

Brody Hildebrandt I had to take the small pin out first. Then I used an old 1/2” extension to tap it in position.
