This was shot with reporter Sean Hennesey in 1993. I have interviewed many people in my career, but this guy has always been my favorite.

Not many people in his situation are nice to us when we approach them.....And fyi - My family is just across the little river on Rt 8. And my grandfather raised us to honor the name Curtis Turner. And he didn't pay much attention to NASCAR. If you know what I'm talking about.

@PofftheMagicPhotog ik the name Curtis Turner. My uncle Barry Chaney married Donna Williams. Her parents owned the old motel just outside of town on route 8 where all of the old cars sit

@PofftheMagicPhotog my great great grandfather is Captain Perry Griffith. Not a well known name, but he's the big man in overalls on the cover of "The Great Moonshine Conspiracy Trial of 1935"
