I created a bunch of landing pages a while back and neglected them over the last few months. This video is motivating me to go back and work on them.

First off, great video. I am absolutly loving the content. I have 2 questions. 1st, may be a silly question, but I am new to SEO. Do you have the same keyword that you target on your landing page as well as in a page on your website? 2nd, I have an Estate Agent website and have started an area guide, hoping this would help me rank for keywords. From your video i took away that I should create a landing page for the keyword i.e.Estate Agents in (the area) and then on my site just have a ultimate guide to (the area) to add value but with no keywords but link the landing page to the guide. Is this the best way you would do this. Thanks in advance.

I like your explanation about landing pages. I usually try explaining it to clients by telling them that website pages are tge pages on your website that are designed to tell a story about your business ... they are focused on providing information. On the other hand landing pages are also pages on your website but they are not part of your overall story. They are specialized pages designed to SELL one of your products or services to a specific type of customer. That customer may be defined by where they are located or by what they do or something else. The point is that the landing page targets a very specific user of your product or service. Because these land I ng pages are so specific, you will likely need a VERY large number of them to thaget all the combinations of customer types and products or services you offer them. The important thing is to keep the landing pages very specific and your webpage very general. I appreciate your feedback on using essentially the same conte t on various landing pages. For a long time I believed Google would punish your website for having duplicate content if you used the same content and only changed the location or the product or service. But it is clear this is NOT a problem. This has helped me streamline the development of my massive homeownership lifecycle website I am producing. I have decided I will divide up the US into separate markets with between 60,000 and 80,000 owner occupied homes. This will let me build targeted landing pages for about 1,250 local markets. But with around 1,100 services fhis will still result in a couple million landing pages ... and I will need separate landing pages for homeowner and fir the home service providers ... so I will need close to 3 million landing pages when I am done. I was kind of overwhelmed with the task of creating unique copy fir all thise pages ... but now I see that I can use the same content with a few changes and it will be fine. ...now if I could only find a modified content spinner that would let me automatically generate thise 3 million pages and load them on my website.........

If I want to offer services nationwide, should I create a homepage without specific city targeting and treat my city along with others as subpages? Hi Chris, Could this be applied dynamically? For instance: duplicating multiple pages with same content but inserting variables such as keywords, images, etc all pulled from custom field meta. Have you done this before in the past with success? Hopefully I’ve explained this clearly.

At this moment I do have translated options of my pages with the WPML plug-in. Is that enough or are you saying that the translated pages should differ in some kind of way?

Hi Chris! Great video! Even though I know what a landing page is, your delivery is amazing! You know landing pages inside out. Can you please help put a dilemma to rest? A friend has an orthotics page for Guelph and Milton /custom-orthotics. We've tried to improve content to rank in both but its lagging (ya duh Chris says). I want her to make a page orthotics-guelph and orthotics-milton but don't know how to add it to the menu with the main one already there! Should we keep the original and do 2 new 'landing pages' or redirect the main one to orthotics-guelph (more popular) and do a new Milton one? The struggle is real and I'd love for your help! Hey Chris, I just started creating city landing pages and there's something I'm confused about. I'll use your landing pages and area as an example. You're ranking very high for 'Toronto web design', but I don't see you ranking high for 'Hamilton web design'. Even though both your landing pages are the same. What's confusing is that Toronto is a much bigger city and more competitive, yet you're ranking high there, while ranking low for Hamilton which is a smaller city that's less competitive. What gives? What determines 1 landing page from doing well compared to another which has the same content?

Is it enough to have duplicated content with the location / industry inserted? It seems like something that could be abused quite easily and would be picked up on by Google... on the flip side web design is web design the service doesn’t change between geographical area so what can you really do apart from shuffle the content up a bit...

Hi . You said that after you ranked few positions above on google you will add more content to your landing pages . After you added new content on your landing pages will you ask google for recrawling your whole website or will you wait like google to notice that you added new content on your landing page even if it takes one year .

This remind me like back olds good day this know AKA : google sniper But nowadays there is a lot info about SEO My guess ppl get confused .. also marketers need to pay attention on the “search intent” (search intent is the why behind a search query ) Take for example the query: French press caffe” Most of the top-ranking pages are “how-to” articles French press cafe, All depends of the keyword Now other ideas is you can build sub-files where you translate the same content (or keyword) on different language. Here are couple ideas: blog/training. /es/blog/entrenar .. hopefully that helps . Wish you luck guys!
