As a kid, I read Captain Underpants, DogMan, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Dr. Sues books, My Weird School book series, If you give a mouse a cookie, and much more. These books gave me back nostalgia😢

I grew up in the 80s and I used to read like a fiend too. I used to love this “Goosebumps before there was Goosebumps” series called “Twilight - Where Darkness Begins.” But it wasn’t THAT Twilight. I’d devour these books and be buying them all the time with my paper route money.

Back in my childhood I used to love reading crap like The Pete the Cat series, Go away Big Green Monster, The Clifford the Big Red Dog series, The No David series, the Froggy series (But I’m not sure if you know what that even is?), the Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you see? series, The very hungry Caterpillar, etc. 😊

Bro, i was born in 2009 and yet im 14 and i still find my class reading diary of a wimpy kid and goosebumps- last year everyone in my class except me was reading diary of a wimpy kid goosebumps was ok i was out of those phases at 12 and omg the pigeon books they were the best in 2nd grade i used to love reading last year but now i hate it my school is giving me trash books now i never wanna read a book i dont get to choose anymore then everyone in my class ruined reading so yea

Here are books I read as a kid Captain Underpants (The Movie is God Tier) Geronimo Stilton Diary of a Wimpy Kid (I still do from time to time) The Baby Sitters Club (I stopped reading the chapters and moved on the the graphic novels) Amulet (I'm sad that this series is ending so short with just 9 books) The Thomas Railway Series (I read a few) Arthur Books The Berestain Bears The Rainbow Fish Plus I hate the fact that every kids movie needs to get a chapter book

Not gonna lie, some of the unit texts we read in 8th grade were so good. My personal favorites were Flowers for Algernon and The Tell-Tale Heart. Also really liked the Astro Boy 1950's/60's (huge fan of Astro Boy whether it be anime manga etc) manga and Wings of Fire! Good times, those books were goated.

Mrs Godfrey in big Nate got off the wrong foot for me. I was reading Big Nate: In the zone, and in it Nate did a project and made a colosseum replica with lego bricks. And he got a low score because "There was no plastic in ancient rome!". And Nate said this: "What was I supposed to do? Go to the nearest quarry and dig up some marble?". At least one character or two in these books has some sort of bully or villain. The books are still good tho.

I remember my older brother and I loving DOAWK but our parents, especially my dad hated it because of the illustrations Jeff Kinney made and thought they were 'too silly'. I still love Wimpy Kid but now I realized how messed up the Heffley family is ( Frank's a deadbeat, Susan's a karen, Greg's a sociopath, Manny's a spoiled psychopath and Rodrick's the only normal one despite being hurt by his parents the most)
