Here's a fun fact: when ToF released it literally gave almost everything Genshin didn't have. Glide forever, double jump, wakeboard, custom character design, A lot of potential endgame more than Genshin could... Yet it failed to captivate and retain its players. I was a day 2 player yet it didn't keep me engaged despite me wanting it to be a good enough game to hold a candle to Genshin. WuWa has a huge mountain to climb because it's not against just Genshin but HSR as well and their upcoming ZZZ.

I hope Wuthering does well enough to get Hoyo to be a bit less complacent with Genshin. They really could use the competition. That said, also think folks just forget that GI's popularity is also a result of timing with it releasing during a time where the world was basically on pause. WW just isn't gonna get that same boost. It'll still likely do well in its own right but it does feel sorta like it's marketing itself as Genshin for hardcore gamers who want less casual stuff in GI. But GI's casual friendly nature is one of the things that helped it gain such a large fanbase in the first place. WW is aiming for a bit of a niche. A very vocal one but still. People going in thinking this will kill Genshin are dreaming

I beg to differ regarding Nikke. That game could've been the potential Genshin Killer in a gacha aspect. I will say that that's the only other game that took my attention off anything Mihoyo has made and is my 2nd gacha two Gi/HSR. Yeah I thought it was butts and boobs but the gameplay is very addicting tbh.

Even if Natlan came out, asking me to stay for longer than it takes to finish the Archon Quest is just too much. While I did enjoy exploring genshin's open world for 2 straight years, I quite preferred to spend more time doing HSR SimUni and HI3rd's Elysian Realm. While gameplay was a pull for me at first and I did stay for the story despite the hiccups, but outside of Abyss, what exactly do I get from continuing genshin when ive already 100% explored their open world within 3 days of a patch coming out? Honestly, it was fun for a time. But another map expansion does little for me now as an endgame player who's only stuck doing character building meme builds just to have some form of entertainment. World quests are great. Lore is great. Having the story, despite how atypically xianxia it can be, is great... But when half the product is sold as combat-focused and im bored of all the combat options im given, the hoyo-defenders cant exactly blame me and many others for looking elsewhere to satisfy that yearning for thrill and a sense of newfound wonder we get in experiencing high intense action packed gameplay completely absent or, god forbid, paywalled by genshit. When Hoyo got complacent, that was the beginning of my waning interest in their product. So heres to hoping WuWa's release knocks their socks off into actually working harder

How opinions change from mind to mind, I play most games for story and Lore, and.... I'm burnt out from Genshin, I lost patience to wall text fillers, and stagnant crumbled story Ironically, Nikke has a good story and much much better Narrative and Story Telling than Genshin, not coping, the lore and humor are so well digested, easy, nice pacing So, yup I'll try Wuwa cuz I'm tired from Genshin, And I don't like the idea that Genshin is having more references to Honkais, For me, it's like losing its soul and what identify GI, the mythology and cultures included, kinda ruined by the "it exists in the HONKAIverse" But.... I think, the best way to make Genshin better and not stagnant, it's to support Wuwa, After all, both games can co-exist ✌️

Genshin had the covid shut down to overly boost its numbers WUWA wont have that but it will do a lot better than you think. I will play both even after 5.0 after six weeks Genshin will be dead again.

Well honestly if genshin had released outside of when the Pandemic happened i believe it wouldnt of had the success it has now, but because it did its never going to have true competition, im a day one player, i loved the game peak for me was inuzuma, sumeru was probably my point were it just dragged on too long, story was good, and thats where i stopped. Fontaine the water exploration was my least favorite thing in the entire game but thats my opinon. I really want GI to have some type of competition thats not a hoyo game, will it happen? Who knows probably not.
