Thank you Kent, Shannon and Major. These videos are proof that a wonderful part of American history is still alive and well. It takes a special kind of person to live the life y'all do. I couldn't do it -- at 2:30 in the morning, I'm usually just going to bed, not getting up to fix breakfast. I seldom get up before the crack of nine but I do greatly appreciate these videos where you're describing the lifestyle and work requirements of the men -- and women -- keeping alive the life of cattle ranches. I dearly love this type of video -- even more than your recipes, wonderful as they are. Keep'em comin' my friend and watch out for those legless critters invading camp. They're the reason God gave us shotguns!

There was always a prayer and no sour language. Love the cattle drive. One time my Son and I were driving on a small road near the Wyoming border North of Hahn's peak in Colorado when a cattle drive headed toward us. I pulled over to the side and stopped. All of a sudden a bull out front started running full tilt toward us with 20 or 30 other cattle following. I had my Son crawl under the dash because I thought they were going to trash the car. Instead we were surrounded with cattle licking every inch of our car. They cleaned it better than the best car wash. My Son and I's concern turned to delight as we watched those tongues working away. What a sight. Wish I had a camera.

I’d love to see a “pantry tour” of the camp kitchen. Staples you keep on the wagon, whether it be dry ingredients or canned ingredients, what kind of fresh meats you’ll bring and how you deal with refrigeration, etc. could be a old history lesson of the types of things you’re able to do these days that ol’ Cookie could have only dreamed of

Thank you for the video. Growing up in Michigan I didn't get out west much. We had friends in Buffalo, Sheridan, and Worland. But my parents only took the trip west 3 times. We had an Aunt and Uncle north of Seattle, WA; so my parents were in a hurry to get there. Consequently the time between in Wyoming was short. Our friends in Worland wanted us to come out hunting, but my father always had a reason not to go each year. Eventually time caught up with my fathers friend and he passed away on an Elk hunt up by Ten Sleeps. I always wanted to go back to Wyoming and spend some time there. Thank you for these videos of cowboy life and the countryside of Wyoming. It brings back some of those memories back when I was a teen. And thank you for always saluting those hard working service men and women of our armed forces. People who have never served do not realize how much they sacrifice on our behalf. So thank you for your appreciation. I know this video came out awhile ago, but it is almost Christmas now. So may you and all of your cowboy family have a very merry and blessed Christmas. And the same to all of our service men and women around the world.

My father actually had a registered brand. It was the lazy bar T. When i saw the Lazy T ranch, it brought that memory back. He actually rode in a couple of cattle drives, although he was not a professional cowboy. Back then, you took the jobs you could get. He also did a stint as a lumberjack. Still had the 6' chainsaw bar for his Stihl when he died. One thing he mentioned for both jobs, was that the cooks had to be up before everybody else. Nobody does good work without a solid breakfast and a cup of coffee. He always said that a camp relied on the cooks for morale. Nothing soured a work environment like bad food, and a bad cookie was considered a black mark against whoever hired that cook.

Thank you so much for producing and sharing this show! It is very heart warming, entertaining, informative, very professionally assembled, and an outstanding example of a beautiful connection with life in the USA. If only the morals and excitement of our surroundings shown in this story would present themselves more in the world.

This was one of the most visually stunning videos you have ever made. We Vermonters always feel somewhat slighted by your love of Wisconsin cheese as we think we make some great cheeses as well... However, it was great to see you using King Arthur flour for the pancakes. It is the finest employee owned flour in the world - straight from Norwich, Vermont.

I just came across your channel today and I have to say I LOVE it! I live in CT but feel like I belong in the country. Something about the country cowboy life feels like home. I’m a puertorrican woman who would love to live in Wyoming or Montana. I love nature and the wilderness so much. God bless our military, our cowboys and our farmers!!!!!! 💕

Have always loved your cooking videos, Kent family, but these trail stories or just the best. As a vet, it reminds me of my times out in the field with my brothers and sisters; where even the bad times were the best of times. I could curl up next to a fire and listen to your history all night. God bless y'all.
