I was cracking up laughing at Xavier's and Cyclops' dialogue. I don't know if you remember the episode from Invincible where Mark's favorite showrunner explains why they have scenes where the characters mouths or faces are obscured to help with time development!Their mouths being blocked was something i couldn't un-see!!🤣🤣🤣

They are taking everything from X-men comics history, from Roberto in his original New Mutants uniform, to Asteroid M, all the way to Magneto ripping the adamantium from Wolverine’s bones and body…this is the series of the YEAR, in my opinion!

@Gus_Magnus most people cling to the version that they were introduced to or were most familiar with. For me, it was the brown suit and although I had seen him in the blue and yellow, the brown one felt like it was a better representation of his code name.

That’s an awesome observation! There was that flashback in the vision Jean had of him in class where he was overwhelmed by all the sounds he can hear. And the way his mother comforted him, the humanity that exists in him loves her. I also saw it as another layer of him putting her to rest. The stillness of that moment, a moment of peace and quiet in the midst of chaos. Well, he caused it lol but still. It’s finally quiet.

Magneto ripping the adamantium out of Logan was metal, no pun intended. That was incredible, definitely one of the greatest animation masterpieces Marvel has EVER done. I can't wait yo see how they bring it all together in part 3.

From a psychology perspective, we’re looking at trauma, and trauma responses. In Magneto’s case, he’s responding as most people probably would from such extreme trauma throughout their life. He’s seen and endured so much trauma through his life. He even tried to be like Xavier and take the high road; “behold their reward.” How can you fault him? His perspective is very compelling, even if his actions are harsh. Val believed they deserved it after her speech that Magneto was right. And then Charles, being the man of the high road, violates his morals/ideology in an attempt to disable Magneto, and use his powers “for the greater good” and fix the problem. The thing is, Magneto loves Charles, and even respected him for his view. I think that view subconsciously gave Magneto hope that it might work. So when he sees Charles violate that ideology, he’s a traitor. Not only to Magneto, but all mutants, because he’s no better. That hope is mingled with grief, pain, and desperation. He’s lost the high road. Holy shit. What a fkn episode!

That's why I agree with Magneto. The man had tried his best, even when Storm saved him and lost her powers. As a result, Magneto took the high road and begged the humans to do better since he was doing better, even when he knew that nothing was going to change. The X-Men has always been much too soft for my liking. Mutants all over the world are being experimented on, locked up, and killed just for being who they are, and the X-Men don't do what needs to be done.

Don't worry, they quickly went ahead and fired the showrunner of this gem that makes all the other mcu stuff look like trash. Turns out he wasn't politically correct enough in the office and HR and MBA suits didn't like him doing things so radically different. Don't worry though, they'll probably get the She-Hulk showrunner to take over season 2!

Another INCREDIBLE episode! I don't want this season to end. Seeing the X-Men in their classic suits was awesome! The writing is top notch, the music is amazing, and the animation/visuals continue to be breathtaking and phenomenal. THAT ENDING!?!??!?! I never knew bringing a comic panel directly from the pages of a comic book on to a TV screen would fill me with so much despair and dread and shock and leave me absolutely flabbergasted. 1000/10 episode this week! I'm SUPER HYPED for the season finale next week!

They’re so going to do the Onslaught saga. Xmen issue 25 was the issue Magneto pulled the adamantium from Wolverine. Magnetos defeat sowed the seeds of Onslaught inside Professor X’s psyche. (Professor X using Magnetos powers and shutting his brain off was the impetus for Onslaught). I LOVED seeing the older costumes. Also seeing Wolverines bike with the claws was amazingly fun. (It was a toy made for the 90s toybiz figures and had giant claws thst moved when he rode the bike).

Wolverine is actually very good against Magneto, he always manages to take him by surprise. And Magneto never goes this far. In the comics, this moment was a shock to everyone.

The very first time where the term "Gold Team" and "Blue Team" emerge. Back when I was a kid, I have a volume of Marvel Cards and I wonder why there are Blue and Gold Teams when they already called an X-men. After 30 years of wondering, it FINALLY make sense! Now THIS is the show that makes a lot of sense that focuses the REAL X-men story. GOD, I LOVE THIS SHOW! the show gets better and BETTER!!!

This latest episode proves two things: 1) Beau deMayo, despite whatever he did to get himself fired from Marvel and Disney, is a fucking genius. 2) For that ending......whatever you were expecting, they went there, and it left me speechless. Next week's finale is going to be insane, and I got one word that better be in Season 2: ONSLAUGHT!

In the original comic storyline its Colossus that stands beside Magneto instead of Rogue. I love that clever switch by Beau DeMayo. Also could we see bone claws coming into play for this season to setup season 2.

Nope. This Wolverine doesn't have bone claws. You might remember that one WWII flashback episode from S05 in which Logan teams up with Captain America. He doesn't have any type of organic claws in that episode.

I think the X-Men '97 Morph is more like the Morph from the Exiles comic that was born as a grayish blob then a little boy or a little girl. So Morph took the shape of a boy going forward but would look gray when home-out in public Morph took the form of a boy child. Actually Morph's costume at the end is very close to the Exiles costume too. So cool to see Cyclops and Wolverine in their Pryde of the X-Men costumes, so awesome to see. Soon as I saw Wolverine's claws go into Magneto, I knew what was going to happen. Episode 10 is gonna be insane.

What an incredible episode and the comic accurate storylines are executed so well. You have the reference kind to Magneto asking Wolverine that metal doesn't run through your entire body does it? Lol. Also the 1996s The Incredible Hulk makes a cameo with the iconic Morph smash so good. This is truly Magneto's storyline and it felt like a Shakespeare's story similar to Macbeth. That ending with the ripping of the metal was an explosive cliffhanger ending and it looks like they could setup Onslaught for the next season with merging of the minds of Xavier and Magneto.

Wow!! Another amazing episode!! After today’s episode I’m convinced Jean returns as Phoenix in the final episode. All the hints have been there from constant mentioning of it, to being shown multiple times in the intro, and to Jean dismissing Madelyne powers with small Phoenixes on the astral plane in episode 3. Even Cable seem to have fire like raptor when his powers were activated against Jean. Love seeing how they portray her friendship with Ororo❤️. Sad but not understandable the split with the team after what happened in Genosha. Think most of us saw this but surprised Scott and Hank didn’t side with Erik from their previous comments. Hank I gather changed his tune because of what happened to Trish. From Demayo hint of certain comic book definitely not surprised Wolverine Adamantium taken out but still horrifying this happened. Can’t wait for the conclusion next week!!

The worst (or best) part of this is that you can understand both sides. Magneto is right, but so is Charles. Also holy crap! morph hulk, evil cable, jean getting maybe killed, wolverine getting.....that.

@@parkerboy795 i feel like those are necessary so mutants could live freely. Magneto specifically since x-men 97 never draw first blood. Anything that happens after is all charles fault now like wolverine and jean (potential death). Like magneto said, he followed charles path but charles is not willing to try out any other. It causes more conflict between the mutant.

I mean I get Rogue and Roberto's reasoning for siding with Magneto but Rogue saying 'you weren't there on Genosha' in front of Nightcrawler - who was there on Genosha - was a little uncalled for. But it's gotta go wrong before the big finale, we're gonna get Boneclaw Wolvie too!

I mean I think she said that to the others which is true not Kurt they only saw the aftermath they weren’t there when it happened. They didn’t see how happy she was to see all the mutants happy in one place and for her to finally realise her feelings for gambit. Only for her to know peace for a short while only for it to be utterly destroyed and so many mutants killed in front of her it has broken her so I completely understand her side in saying I don’t want any more mutants harmed or killed. There comes a point when enough is enough she has reached a breaking especially when the man she loved died in her arms.

Back in the comics, there was some deception going on over actually "switching sides" to join Magneto. I have some doubts regarding Rogue and Roberto's defection. Their actions and dialogue choices make me a tiny bit suspicious.

IDC had Magnus never had The X-Men Genosha would've never been a dream come true. Bastian is the only real enemy, the only one to blame! I read other comments ppl talkn bout Onslought. The problem with Magneto path is that in the end Magneto is showing the same apathy to humanity that he accuses them of. I am a bit surprised by how many ppl side with Magneto. I think Beast said it best to Magneto in the OG series that humanity must be made to learn that mutants arent a threat to humanity, but a part of it, but that takes continued work by both parties.

Huge robots being made to smash you like bugs. You go to a country of your people to be safe and a giant death machine comes there and destroys the whole damn country. Then a bunch of people willing join an anti you project and get turned into mini monster to kill, experiment on and enslave you and your people. Has Magneto done any of this? Humans are the problem and no amount of talking will ever be enough to change that. The thing is the humans are right to be afraid. The Mutants are the next step. In the future. Humans will be gone.

I legit teared up during Ororo and Jean's conversations. I just love everything about this series. I grew up in the 90's watching the original show and I couldn't be more happy with the choices they made. Even losing Remy (my OG fav) hasn't dampened my opinion of this show. I'm just blown away.

I read that Apocalypse was able to rebond Adamantium to Wolverine but in return, wolverine became a horseman. It is exciting to think that if our speculations about Gambit's return as a horseman to be true, then witnessing him and Wolverine against the X-Men will be an epic moment.

That final scene was a hallmark moment in comics back in the 90's. It's common knowledge now, but back then everyone assumed that Logan's claws were full-on Adamantium. It was only after he was striped of the metal, that we discovered that he had bone-claws and we got to delve deeper into Logan's history. That was always a pet peeve of mine with the first solo wolverine movie - it just put that fact front and center. We never got the mystery and gradual reveal of Wolverine's origins that we got in the comics. With one episode left there is not much room to explore it. But hopefully they do in a future season.

32:02 I think what Magneto shows in his line about “this feud being over” is that he’s always pulled his punches and could always have done this to Wolverine, and Magneto has always fought “ethically” ( at least in his own way) - eg he didn’t want to irreparably hurt Wolverine, even though he always could, but three blades through the chest simply went too far…

I also thought that more of the team would be excited about Storm regaining her power. I was also disappointed that they didn’t show Storm’s reaction to Gambit’s death. She brought him onto the team after all.

Another thing that she said that was really horrible was her flippant comment after suggesting the next casualty would be Jean. “Been free, done that.” No YOU didn’t , “Girl”. YOU didn’t die. JEAN did.. I thought she had gotten it a little together when she asked Nightcrawler about Trask. I was wrong. Like she said, Gambit always knew the odds. He always played the long game. I think he would have been disappointed in the choice she made - and not because Magneto had been his rival. Rogue is one of my favorites. Although I like Gambit even more, I could empathize with her actions. Underneath her cheery exterior, she felt very isolated. I could understand why she went with Magneto, especially he is an even greater Master of Manipulation than Magnetism. She learned too late that some things are deeper than skin. She regrets that choice. I believe she is even angrier with herself than Professor X and humans. I wish she would realize she has one more lesson to learn from the Xavier. OWN YOUR MISTAKES.
