Beast (Kelsey Grammer) injects Magneto (Ian McKellen) with the mutant cure, rendering him frail.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The explosive X-Men motion picture trilogy officially draws to a close with this release that finds Rush Hour director Brett Ratner stepping in for Bryan Singer to tell the tale of a newly discovered mutant "cure," and the polarizing effect it has on mutant/man relations. With the pressure on mutants to give up their powers and pledge alliance with the human race reaching a critical turning point, Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) urges tolerance and understanding as his nemesis Magneto (Ian McKellen) gathers a powerful resistance in preparation for the ultimate war against humankind. I like the little detail where Beast throws away the dart cartridge. You can tell he's disgusted by his actions but still did what was necessary to save everyone. Says a lot about his character.

@@marcudemus huh it's funny you mention that a good while back there was a comic where kingpin,Loki dr.doom(who's a gypsy by the way) magneto(both Jewish and holocaust survivor) and the red skull (an ss officer so evil Hitler was afraid of him ) I dont remember who brought them together but its goes south and they all flee accept for magneto and the skull and magneto confronts him just for the skull to call him out saying what magneto was doing what the skull and hitler where trying to even saying magneto was trying to mutants the master race than after a failed attempt skull gets captured by magneto and thrown in an underground bunker with two weeks worth of water and leaves him there with the intent the skull will die slowly When I found out about the comic those panels stook with me because the skull had a point and I sadly don't know if anything came out of it I would hope so I know magneto became an x men at one point

Wow. I remember as a kid I found Iceman vs Pyro a lot more epic. But all they do here is cross beams till John gets the upper hand, then Bobby ices up and probably does the only cool thing in the fight.

Iceman becomes one of the few Omega-level mutants in Marvel; aka the most powerful. Pyro is nowhere near Iceman's capabilities.

Magneto being turned human was actually one of the few good moments from this movie. You can see how lost and frail he is is without his powers. He's just an old man without any cause, any power, any friends. Most other mutants have worked their whole lives to try and be accepted, to try and live in society with what they have. They aren't defined by their powers, more by who they are as people. He is defined by his abilities, he always has been. And that comes from the Shaw only caring about him because of his powers. Losing his mother because he couldn't show his power. Being stuck in a concentration camp because he wasn't strong enough. I don't mind that they retconned this movie in DOFP, but seeing Magneto reduced to this pathetic old man was excellent.

To be fair, they didn't exactly retcon it. It's implied that the effect wasn't as permanent as advertised. The last clip of the movie ends with Magneto moving the chess piece, ever so slightly, without touching it. He's gaining his powers back.

@TimothyGod oh that sucks....but when Bobby went full ice mode I didn't know he was gonna armor up in a ice form...I thought that part was dope as hell...Pyro was so in for it on that one...him unleashing fire on woken up the inner beast with in him...I was like whoa Bob went full ice mode after Pyro pissed him off after getting head butted....like ouch he had to be dead from that I think.

Vidal Pierce Not necessarily. His hands would thaw afterwards and they would be okay. Bobby just covered Pyro's hands with frost to temporarily inhibit his firebending (sorry for the Last Airbender reference). He would not freeze Pyro's hands to the point where he needed to amputate his limbs.

Hard to imagine him helpless like this now Michael Fassbender turned him into a bad ass. But Ian McKellan's amazing acting will do that to you. I was lucky enough to watch him do a play on stage. He played an old mob boss, he died at the end, the way he said his final words to his family was heartbreaking. I shed a tear, he is one of the best actors there has ever been.

Pyro has a weakness that Iceman doesn’t. Pyro can only manipulate fire, he can’t conjure it. Iceman can do both with his ice.

Iceman is even better than that, he isn't conjuring Ice, he controls the state of sub atomic particles and their speed, and the way he learned to utilize this was to drop the air and humidity around its temp by slowing their energy, in the comics he learns he can also excite their speed and make things boil, from the inside, he's one of the most powerful mutants as he controls a fundamental force of the Universe.

I don’t know if X-Men Orgins Wolverine is Canon but we see a character running really fast I tried to examine the face of the character but can’t tell if it is Evan Peters or some other person In Days Of Future Past Wolverine doesn’t have his Metal claws which would mean Wolverine would have to have met him later on when he was older when he got his claws which he got them in 1980’s in the movie Days Of Future Past takes place in 1960’s Quicksilver was probably in his 30’s or 20’s So Wolverine met Quicksilver when Quicksilver was around 50 years old or 40 years old

Apparently in the original script, Iceman carried Pyro away from the battle when Jean Grey was destroying everything. I wish the moment was included cause in this scene we have no idea what happened to Pyro after he passed out.

It has some good scenes but its a disservice to the X-Men franchise by cramming in the Phoenix saga and The Mutant Cure storylines into 1 movie that isn't 2 hours. It closes the trilogy in a very poor way.

@@sirmackavelli1819 it's still better and epic than DF It has a lot of problems but I've always enjoyed this movie And I'll always do watching it again It's has epic scenes Very good and memorable soundtracks The wolverine is so badass and funny The x-men team is still very cool (storm, iceman, beast, rogue, kitty pryde) Sadly nighcrawler is not here It's one off the problems with this film The beast design is really beautiful Magneto is very good Good acting So yes It has and lot of problems and it's not perfect but it's still a good x-men film It's not the worst one I ever seen
