I know this is an old posting, but I just tried to buy Air Manager on their website, and it is now 65 Euros, which is about $75. Duet Display is now about $20, so this solution has gone from $40 to about $95. Wish I would have done this a year ago.

Hello Russ, I have one word for you unbelievable. You are solving all of the complicated technical issues for me. I’m in the process of buying a brand new computer to update my system. Currently I am running 342 inch 1080 screens with a small monitor for instruments. I’ve been running Microsoft flight SIM X. What I would like to do is run the 3 42 inch screens as well as Two instrument screens and a GPS iPad. I’m planning on switching over to X-plane 11. I currently have 1700 hours instrument time on a King air. I have the entire suite of goflight modules. My current system is out of date and I’ve had it for 10 years. I want to completely maxed out the new system so I can use it for another 10 years. I’m looking to spend around US$5000. I’ve been doing some research but would appreciate your viewpoint. I went for a bore 10 years ago and its lasted me this long. i’m also wondering if you could help me set up the complete system for a King Air in X-plane 11or guide me to one of your videos.I would like to set up the cockpit is true to the king air as possible. I know I’m asking a lot and I’m sure you’re very busy. But sure could use the help. You are the master.

Hi Russ First….. I’m a beginner and I’m in the process of buying equipment on a beginner’s flight sim setup. I’ll have one monitor displaying xplane visuals and a 22” touchscreen displaying instruments using Air Manager. My question is, I want to introduce an IPad running ForeFlight to show moving map etc. How does one get the IPad GPS to show X-Plane’s location and not the real location. I hope this makes sense. Thank you. I must say that this is very confusing to learn.

Yes typo sorry gtx1070 and a i7-4770 @ 3.4Ghz no OC. You got something seriously wrong if you can’t get > 30fps with mid level slider settings. Drivers up to date?

Hi Russ - did you have two copies of Air Manager at this point? I think there's only one copy per computer these days, so to have it running on two PCs one would need to buy two licences?

Russ, I've watched many of your videos and I can relate to wanting a more realistic experience. Although not a former airline pilot, I was a private with an instrument rating and you're right; real pilots don't use mice. I've watched your videos on Air Manager and it's impressive, and tempting to try. But you recently mentioned wanting to build something more tactile, with real push buttons and rotary encoders. I have built one for the Garmin 430/530 using an Arduino Mega board. With no previous electronics experience whatsoever I was able to build the board with every control except for the little screen. It was fun and challenging. But watching your Air Manager videos has me wondering if that may better? I've recently spent more time in the Eclipse (Still using X-P 10.52) and it looks like AM already has almost the whole panel, less the FMS. Just interested in your comments. Tom

How does duet impact the frame rate of X-Plane? Because I tried Splashtop Wired XDisplay which drops my framerate from 30 to 25 which is a bit much.

Hello Russ, Finally got duet display to work and already downloaded the 530 for airmanager. I'm able to drag it to the iPad. The problem is, if i have the iPad plugged in and running duet display my xplane crashes at the beginning. If i turn off duet display it loads normally. With just airmanager no problem, but airmanager and duet display it crashes at start. Can you help? Thanks

The ubiquitous iPad in portrait mode would be a good size for the avionics stack in the steam-gauge 172SP in X-Plane. Since the rotary knobs on the simulated Garmin 430/530 cause the most grief, one could move the avionics to the (touchscreen) iPad, leaving the steam gauges on the main screen. Would it be possible, then, to use the Knobster with such an iPad setup?

Hello, could you please reconfirm your computer specs? GTX170? you mean a GTX1070? Also, what model and specs of cpu you have? I recently go a GTX2080 and o was only able to get 7FPS on 3 screens just like you do. I have an i7 OC @ 4.5Ghz. I did increase all graphics to max with the exception of reflexions which I left at (0). But even dropping the graphics to more modest levels, only got up to 12 to 14 FPS. I have 3 x 24” What is you secret?

Awsome experience but I'm doing the same concept, except using the air manager. The GPS popes out on 5th touch screen monitor and gives you the same options for full control, no need for second computer, or different programs besides X-Plane 11, I wish there was an option to pup out the Auto Pilot, but unfortunately, X-Plane 11 doesn't give that option. What is the point of the overlay. You would still have touch control on the iPad?

Russ, I downloaded and installed Air Manager version 3.6 for my iPad. I select the bezel for the X530 and use it with XPlane, but the overlay works on the desktop only. I downloaded and installed Duet Display for my iPad but now how do I get the X530 bezel from the desktop to the Duet display? Do I need to purchase the desktop version of Air Manager? I already purchased the iPad version for $22. Can I download the X530 bezel somewhere without having to purchase Air Manager again?

I got this working more or less. I purchased and installed AM and also Duet. I found your bezel on the forum. Everything functions except I have to set AM to "Mouse control". If I set it to "Touch control" it simply doesn't work. The scroll wheels are jumpy with mouse control. I suspect I'm missing some sort of touch screen driver. Any ideas? I'm running Windows 7 by the way.

Could the same thing be done using another tablet such as Samsung? Do these techniques work for FSX? I've tried a similar set up using Lilliput 7" USB monitors on my 3 monitor flight sim, but the were not compatible with my video card so I had to ship them back. I was hoping a Samsung tablet would work. I wanted one small monitor to use for the GPS with touchscreen, and another for the FMS on airliners also taking advantage of touchscreen technology. I just uploaded a brief tour of the sim I'm building on my KZfaq channel. Still a work in progress and so many ideas to try.

The Air Manager G530 overlay runs smoothly, but when I drag the map window from XP11 to G530, the number of fps drops by 15-20. How to deal with it ??? I run all the 172 gauges with airmanager on a remote computer. Now i would like to add this GPS to my panel. At this moment the iPad is at rest. Só i would like to make it a GPS. Can you help?
