In advance of our March 2014 Kickstarter Campaign - Here's an advance look including a tutorial and winding session of the new X-Winder desktop filament winder
The X-Winder is an affordable desktop filament winder capable of building ('winding') composite structural components at a fraction of the cost of commercially available products. Carbon fiber, basalt, fiberglass, kevlar, and any other raw continuous filament materials are wound and bound in a glued resin matrix to create final parts that are completely customizable by the user. The X-Winder is shipped with easy to use PC based software that operates with industry standard G-Code.

I kinda want to hear the narrator freak out at the end - OMG this part is so light and so strong! I like the use of cashiers tape!

Great video. I will again be ordering one as soon as the machine is available on kickstarter. Shipping without the long extrusions is a good idea.

Looking forward to getting one. Being a high powered model rocket builder I could most certainly use one of these. By the way you should look into perforated heat shrink tape. That will further remove more resin than the non perforated shrink tape.
