I can't tell you how much i love and miss him, there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction. I had to set some fool straight last night people trying to dirty Elvis name not on my watch what sickens me the most is the people that are talking smack know nothing of what they are speaking of, i have spent my entire adult life speaking out to people that try and judge a beautiful soul that is not here to defend himself and don't get me started on my girl Priscilla people hate her because they are straight up jealous she made Graceland prosperous no one else and people putting her down no way not while i still have breath in my lungs no one i mean no one will disrespect them period. Elvis was very ill he begged Parker not to make him do this he didn't want anyone to see him this way but parker didn't care Elvis was a money maker for that evil piece of garbage i hated Parker and i told him as much every time i saw him. Elvis body failed him but his voice never did. God bless you and your family from the one and only Memphis Tn. 😭Elvis told me all the time you should always know where you stand with people now i know what he meant.

Although he was so sick here and passed just weeks later his voice never failed him. When his people told him that he should cancel this concert he replied I am going out there and giving these people what they came for. He loved his fans as much as we continue to love him. This concert was so different...it was as he knew that it could be his last. If you watch it in its entirety you can see it in how he delivers each song. He was handsome charismatic an icon a legend the king. With a voice that grabs you from the first note. We were so lucky to have him even for a while and now we continue his legacy through reactions like yours. Tha k you for sharing a great reaction.

to Janet: the breathing issue was a genetic condition A-1 antitripsyn causing COPD/emphysema-like symptoms along w-liver problems & he needed the use of an inhaler; this problem was noted on a song in his '68 comeback TV special when he said hold it man, i can't breath; in 1970 at his Houston press conference; & in his outdoor interview in '73 Hawaii

I was eleven years old when I watched this with my dad. We had been aware of Elvis' declining health, even emergency surgery if I recall properly. I admit to feeling sad for Elvis, he was struggling so. But I agree that he poured out the best gift he still had to share which was his voice. My Dad even said at one point that no matter what he never lost his voice. This performance proves he didn't lose his passion, either. I remember reading an interview in which his girlfriend described Elvis' state of mind before his death. She said he was determined to build his health back and return to performing. He truly loved his fans and didn't want to disappoint them or stay away from live performing for too long. One thing that I haven't forgotten is the day my Dad came out of the house and gently told me that Elvis had died. I was wearing my baby blue Elvis T-shirt that day, which must have made it more awkward for my Dad. But he knew I understood how sick Elvis had been. I sometimes wonder about the great ways he could have evolved as a recording artist and performer. I still enjoy listening to his final album, ''Moody Blue''. His body couldn't go on, but his talent was undiminished.

so true -- many singers sound like they are yelling or putting in such an effort that it doesn't even sound natural or normal; besides that, he had a deep, manly voice that even when he was at his most powerful or high note, it was sort of soothing in a way, all while being very emotional; besides the yelling, many singers don't have that deep, richness like he had - kind of like Michael Jackson who to me sounded more like a girl (sorry, if you're an MJ fan)

Well said, and what a roar. Im 60 and grew up with Elvis in the soundtrack of my life, I remember going to see his movie "Speedway" as a kid back in the mid 60's. As others have said those of us who knew the younger Elvis up into the late 60's can see the big difference in his health then and here, for someone as lively as he once was to needlessly pass at the age of 42 is tragic and even criminal - and theres a good chance if some of those around him had intervened and got him healthy with a real doctor and off so many prescription medications he would still be with us today or at least had a longer career and better quality of life. The formula seems to repeat with such as Michael Jackson and many others, talent and the fame it brings has its price - and the price is often high.

The King knew the end was near. Self medicated himself to death with prescribed meds. This was 6 weeks before he died. Basically you could say he got off his deathbed to perform this song and "How Great Thou Art" for this concert. He could have changed, but decided he loved the drugs too damn much. And this was not his last concert. He played Indianapolis the following week and that was the final one. But Indy was not professionally filmed, but can still be found on KZfaq.

Now, regarding the vocals.... I put him on par with the power of an Opera Singer...... Although his meds occasionally affected his speech, it didn't hinder his voice...…. Notice how much force/power he had on this song, and 3 others from this last concert...... Hurt...... Unchained Melody...…. You gave me a mountain...... & How Great Thou Art...... IRONIC he was ill and was able to deliver vocal power perhaps beyond what he could when healthy.

Xavier Estallo The voice covers two octaves and a third, from the baritone low-G to the tenor high B, with an upward extension in falsetto to at least a D flat. Elvis' best octave is in the middle, D-flat to D-flat, granting an extra full step up or down.

And that is why he was, is and always will be THE KING. Even as sick as he was, no one could or can hold a candle to him. 'Elvis Presley has been described variously as a baritone and a tenor. An extraordinary compass- the so-called register, and a very wide range of vocal color have something to do with this divergence of opinion. The voice covers two octaves and a third, from the baritone low-G to the tenor high B, with an upward extension in falsetto to at least a D flat. Presley's best octave is in the middle, D-flat to D-flat, granting an extra full step up or down. Call him a high baritone. In 'It's now or never', (1960), he ends it in a full voice cadence (A, G, F), that has nothing to do with the vocal devices of R&B and Country. That A-note is hit right on the nose, and it is rendered less astonishing only by the number of tracks where he lands easy and accurate B-flats. Moreover, he has not been confined to one type of vocal production. In ballads and country songs, he belts out full-voiced high G's and A's that an opera baritone might envy. He is a naturally assimilative stylist with a multiplicity of voices - in fact, Elvis' is an extraordinary voice or many voices.' From The Fifty Voices of Elvis Presley

I just wanted to say my friend...I love your reacting to Elvis. Also that this was a cool reaction. Yes he was sick. Yes he died six weeks later. But. I'll tell you this.....he did NOT want to do this concert ,but his shitty manager made him. He knew he was exhausted ,not well ,and sick. Elvis died six little weeks later, and most don't understand that he gave all he had in him to do this forced concert. He had pride. And he was not proud of this concert. He did it because he had to. I just turned 43. To see him the age i was a year ago ,is eye opening. The man did his best always ironically Elvis mom died at age 42 and he took very much after her

If you want more falsetto I agree with the other commenter who suggested Blue Moon from 1954. That's probably the ultimate falsetto-performance from Elvis. But I also suggest the home recording of Spanish Eyes. It has some great falsetto singing from 1973, so four years before he died.

Hey my friend Xavier :)) I am a longtime subscriber - as you know, I followed every video of you and make many ( positve) reactions :)) I have a MUST REACT song for you , by a singer ( in duet LIVE!!!) , named *FLOOR JANSSEN* ( A ROCKSINGER) She will probably represent THE NETHERLANDS in 2020 in EUROVISION. ( Its in Rotterdam - Netherlands, because Duncan Laurence won Eurovision this year :) *FLOOR JANSSEN* sings "The Phantom of the opera", with a male opera singer. She reaches SKY HIGH NOTES , só CLEAR and só extremely long : ESPECIALLY from MINUTE 3;00 : It is "from another planet":)) MANY Voice - Coaches in YOU TUBE (at least 20) , already after 2 days, have reacted on it and they all are "BLOWN AWAY", you can check it!!! :)) And all TV stations over the entire world, have broadcasted this in their show- and musical programms TODAY and they all want her for INTERVIEWS :)) THIS song has been broadcasted JUST 2 days ago on TV in the Netherlands , so you have a BRANDNEW request :)) You take NO risk in reacting to it : It is AT LEAST as good as DUNCAN LAURENCE. You can TRUST me:) Thanks in advance :)) Take care and cheers, *JOERI* :)) LINK : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ptJzhsab26qzeoE.html

Regarding his health, he had a list of medical conditions, and was bloated, not necessarily just weight gain....... All his medications WERE DOCTOR PRESCRIBED for those conditions. Addiction set in, yes, but again this occurred under the supervison of his doctor...... Note: This was not 2019, it was 1977, and the whole opioid awareness did not exist they way it has come into fashion in the last 5 years........ I don't blame the man for taking meds to address his health issues. I'm giving him a pass.
