Honestly, ttk is so fast now crucible is just no fun anymore. They need to bring it back to this, but make sure not to go too overboard and make it D2 vanilla levels of bullet sponge

Mhm They turned destiny into cod with improved destiny movement. Sad they couldn’t just be themselves. TTK in D1 was fine

It’s cuz the art style and lighting in D1 is way better, and the music is just leagues ahead of Destiny 2.

Not just the lighting and art style, but the general pace of the game was so soothing. You could actually hear yourself think while playing. This is a perfect example of 'less is more' compared to the clusterfuck of D2

D1 had that serious halo art style where as d2 has that cartoonish fortnite style. I was happy to see d1 armor return to d2.

D1 music really made you feel like a hero, and it was a soundtrack that wasn't automatically muted by your brain. To me, D2's music all sounds the same (though I do like a lot of Lightfall's tracks), whereas the Cabal music in D1 was like a marching band, and the Taken themes were usually like a royal fanfare or a corrupted version of a different race's theme.

yeah, god the d1 cosmodrome was do amazing. and they dumbed down the gfx of cosmodrome in d2 (no pretty clouds, sattelites etc in background) like, why??? It's also disturbing to me that noone talks about it destiny 2 is losing 2 things it could always count on. It's art direction and feel. the new hunter strand super feels like ass. first time i can ever remember that. and neomona (sp?) also looks garbage. also pretty much a destiny first for a new local imo.

It's pvp scene felt so much smoother then d2 something about the slower pace an heavier feeling shots made of something else.

3v3 in d2 can be very slow paced though. 6v6 is just absurd though. It's wild that we are in many ways weaker yet the game is still faster paced in d2

Speaking as a musician, who’s going to college for this sort of thing. Most of the music between the 2 games is almost indistinguishable. The songs in these games were written to promote ambiance and/or the mood and pace of combat. However the music of D2 is far superior in that it’s recognizable. With D2 we got main expansion themes, I recognize that we got main themes for Taken King and Rise of Iron which were both great (Rise of Iron is actually my favorite Destiny song). But we never got that for the base campaign, dark below or house of wolves. And other than Taken King and Rise of Iron’s main theme. I can almost guarantee that you cannot recall a single song from D1 with the exception of the choral/strings ambient sounds from the tower which were also all over the game’s promotional material and the main theme of the game. But I can distinctly remember many D2 songs, I vividly remember launch day of D2 and hearing the song Journey (it’s a song from the soundtrack, not the band) for the first time from the vanilla campaign. The tragic sound of a lone cello as we leave the city in shambles. I remember (bad as the game was at the time) the Curse of Osiris theme and meeting the prolific character for the first time. I remember the sound of the powerful Warmind theme and truly learning about Rasputin and his past for the first time. I remember the sound of revenge and heartbreak at the death of Cayde 6. I remember the sound our first contact with the pyramids and the darkness on the moon. I remember the sound of uncertainty and foreboding of wielding stasis (and going into the crucible with it 🤣🤢). I remember sound of terror of finding our greatest enemy wielding our light. And most recently the sound of the mystery of finding another human civilization. Everything down to the individual planets Destiny 2 have a recognizable theme. The feeling of mystery you’re complaining that you miss has been fulfilled through 9 years of beautiful storytelling. So please consider that before you dunk on the music of this game, it is masterfully written.

Facts

I rarely ever see comments like this nowadays, compared to D1. Everybody had some story to tell about how they did something sick in the crucible. Now, it’s borderline impossible with no-lifers crutching xim/Cronus, spamming smgs, and moving around like a headless chicken on speed with absolutely busted builds. It’s become a mindless husk of the greatness it once was, as evidenced by this video.

9:28 it funny u mention how broken scatter grenades with nothing manacles were so broken considering by april update it had been nerfed already. Flux grenades from hunters were even more oppressive back then

I miss when most weapons had at like 3 different sights to roll with and choose from. Not sure why they ever got rid of that and replaced them with a fixed sight model that I may or may not like with fixed zoon that's tied to the range stat
