Thanks Jesso - For the price, it is a GREAT console and while less powerful than the Series X, it still packs a massive punch and it a strong upgrade from an Xbox One S and even One X

It makes perfect sense for me especially with all access as I skipped last gen altogether.

That would be crazy small , if they did that they’d also have room to turn up the gpu clock speeds “if they want to do that “

I personally do not think so - certainly not by "just plugging it in" as there are no headers for the drive, so it would take a whole lot of re-wiring to get a drive installed

Thanks John - Personally, having used it for a few days now, I would say yes as performance wise it is a lot quicker than the Xbox One X (not as fast as the Series X though obviously). Interestingly the Series S and X have the same processor, but on the Series S it is just clocked down. Also it has less RAM and half the size (512GB) on the local storage. I would say, the biggest down side to the Series S would be the smaller internal storage and lack of optical drive but you can always use an external USB drive and just download your games.

only downside is it cant do 4k. also no disk drive

I think you are correct.. Although I am sure it is tested in both positions, I would opt for normal position

Hello - the Southbridge is the chip that controls internal components such as USB, the BIOS, storage devices and the bus - basically it makes sure all the internals are talking to each other nicely

@@TweakTips Ah! Thank you for the speedy reply. So the fact it’s an “Xbox One” chip has no bearing on the performance of the console as that’s down to the SOC.

@@SEGAGuys Correct, and although it has the "Xbox One" branding, the southbridge on the Series X and S is not the same as on the Xbox One X and S consoles - as it is a custom chip Microsoft have asked the manufacture of the chip to only put their Microsoft branding on it - it probably is just a Texas instruments (or similar manufacture) inside!

Hi Nicola - not sure I have heard of a GPS tracker in the console. Each console will have a unique serial number and MAC address for the onboard LAN and Wireless which I am sure Microsoft can track (or at least ban from connecting to live services) stolen devices.

The power supply is universal, no problem using it worldwide.

I'd say it's normal.. the black vent exhausts all the hot air out the case. if your games run smoothly and there's no thermal throttling (no crazy dip in fps) i wouldn't worry too much.
