This is such a huge thing because one of the MAJOR aspects of this game is "capture the flag" in Wars. If you can just do that and stay on point while not taking damage, it literally wins you the whole game xD

If HP is controlled client side, character position probably is too. How long til people do PvP by falling into the floor where you can't target or attack them, and they just ranged attack you down while they follow you around the map.

I love the game but Josh is right in every way. The game is super broken and to make matters worse, the developers fix one issue and create many others every time they patch the game.

Glitch has been fixed, but while fixing it, the devs broke 5 other major core parts of the game. - Now your gold will disappear from the marketplace if you logout while your item is sold. - Pressing couch while the healing circle in up, heals you, effectively making your invulnerable - People figured out how to crash your computer through chat if you hover over an linked item - And many many other new bugs that trying to fix this bug created.

Now you can't say to your mom or spouse "I can't pause the game. It's online." Lol

I remember in ARR 2.0 you could send the packets to the ff servers that your client sends when you successfully craft and you'd get the exp for that craft. You couldn't dupe, or make 100 items for 1 set of materials, because it wouldn't consume the materials or craft the item but it was an exploit used to level crafters.

every single enemy attack staggers you moving you back a few inches. You can't phase through other players and enemy models (like literally every other MMO) so enemies can just stagger lock you in a corner to death most of the time. Their aggro leashes are pretty long so minding your own business, stop to at a gathering node, next thing you know have 3-5 enemies coming off screen the bend following you a while now slapping the shit outta you. There's no battle music or aggro lines to let you know enemies see you either.

you can get all the cash shop items for (sorta free you have to at least have the minimum amount to buy the item so like 20$) by using this exploit when you "buy" the item activate screenshake mode and you buy the skin but the game doesn't take away the currency (this is probably the only reason amazon put any effort in stopping it

It's worse now. Their fix for the invulnirability is ruining the marketboard system. If your items sell while you are offline or if a buy request happens while offline you will lose the item and not get payouts.

The game seems to allow ppl to use third party tool for it. It’s no surprise that they make it that way. However, most of it depend on the type server they use for the game. Amazon want the product to sell as much as possible so writing stuff in the client side might help them to counter the lag issue for certain situations with gameplay mechanics that not making ppl mad but others… I think the chance that they will likely rework it while removing certain access to fix it (which they already did some). Just you know, Amazon owned a cloud base server so likely they will use it in the future to boost up the amount of servers that they need when the game get bigger or so. The way that NW work is something FF probably doesn’t get it as YoshiP already said so. Honestly, I’m concerning about how Amazon bring Lost Ark to the West if they want to ask Smilegate to enter another contract for the services that they’re later needed. Like ppl already guessed it, they might rush the release date of the game or didn’t check the way how ppl gonna access it.

Imagine writing a scrikpt where you autohit and while doing so you send different values to the server... instead for 150dmg your autohit does lets say 15000dmg... wouldnt be surprised if such a thing will happen soon lol

The issue isnt that there are bugs, the issue is that these devs made a clientside MMO. If they don't know why nobody does or should do that then what good can they be. Thats also not something to do with being rushed since you decide on that fairly early on.

this is old news. josh just made a new video about programmable chat text box. you can dupe gold or crash other people client.

It’s so much worse. The chat window accepts html coding. People can write a statement like “check out this weapon” in chat, and when u hover over the text or click it, the text sends embedded coding to YOUR machine and crashes ur client. It could even send malware like this. Watch Josh’s and Callum’s videos.

The problem is whoever the dev team is do not seem to be very capable. They patch something and break multiple other things. I enjoy the look of the world and the idea of New World but the bugs are worse than a Bethesda Elder Scrolls game.

And those two vids are just the begining.

They will have to stop the code injection bug ASAP.

dude, the reason why the information was set client side is because Amazon knows their own servers are trash... Look at all the games that use amazon servers, they do all have issues...

FFXIV 1.0 was so fundamentally broken that they had to blow it up and do it over from the ground up. Thankfully, this led to the amazing game we have today. Maybe New World can take advantage of that Amazon money and rebuild the game.

I every time wonder why people calling out for developers on why they didn’t fix something or did it right in a first place? Developers in such companies don’t care at all about what they are doing. They care only about their kids waiting them back home. Believe me I worked in such companies. The only people who cares are top managers and they care not about their gamers(clients) but to make a good presentation on good graphs that product make. Poor managers don’t understand what is server side or client side and how this all magic works so they can’t see that their developers just bad at what they are doing. So this whole structure is just rotten. The same happens with the other mmos and other big companies products. They LITERALLY don’t care. Good though that we still have some cool teams who does.

New world is fun enough at first, but the main reason I haven't touched it in almost a week is mainly the time it takes to travel. When it's faster to kill yourself than to just walk to a settlement or fast travel point, something is wrong.

You can literally block that traffic coming in through your network. Anyone hacker with basic knowledge can just permanently block damage being sent to you. This isn't even hacking. You are literally just blocking traffic, lmao. This is extremely easy to manipulate. Some insight, it is 100% possible and easily do able to have your own network outright drop traffic. There is no stack up, you just kill it. If anyone didn't notice, bleed damage does nothing to while in invuln roll state.
